In this E-Book I am trying to lay a solid foundation for you as a person

who wanted to master Visual Basic is not just a way to make software

program but also describes the common problems associated with the

program.

Maybe you cannot wait to do the coding (writing) code and see the

results. Usually the beginner wants so ☺

Here I share my experience which may be a motivation for you how I

used to struggle a self-taught visual basic learning without a teacher and

takes quite a long and tedious.

Hopefully you do not experience anything like I experienced. Hopefully

you can be faster than me.

Of experience programming for over 18 years since 1995 and provide

Visual Basic lessons on college campuses and in online Internet forums

and in visual basic. I am very happy to share my experience to you.

How to Learn Visual Basic with Fast and Save Money?

The way I did in the past is like this:

Buy books Visual Basic tutorial. In my country Visual basic tutorial book

with price: USD $4 is cheap one.

Are you sure you browse the book is appropriate for your needs?

From my experience was not enough to just have one book to master

Visual Basic.

The time you spend studying the book also is the price you pay.

How long you are able to master the self-taught Visual Basic?

1 month, 2 months or 3 months ....?

Try the codes that exist on the books Visual Basic turorial also requires

patience.

What if there are no bugs and typos typical to dizziness.

"Now after more than 14 years struggling recently I realized just how long

and how much cost I spend on mastering Visual Basic."

For a faster way to master Visual Basic is faster and can save you money

and time is to look for an experienced.

Not only experienced as a programmer, but also the least able to transfer

knowledge of Visual Basic itself to you as a person who wants to learn.

For it is my friend understand programming languages just do not

understand human language. Her jokes hyperbola ya (:

Installing Motivation & Intention Frankly I was not studying at school Informatics. I studied at the Faculty

of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra recorded as Stambuk / force

1991.

But my interest in computers is greater than tuition at farm itself. Slowly I

translate the manuals DOS (Disk Operating System) and then I learned

and practiced in front of my brother's office Personal Computer. At that

time the windows have not been there. Obviously that time I quickly

mastered DOS computers as the heart of its operations.

Computer time was still wearing the 5 ¼-inch floppy disk and a 3 ½-inch

floppy disk. At that time I was a computer technician who works installing

DOS.

I am really fascinated with DOS then saw his installation screen that until

now the same as in the initial installation of Windows XP.

DOS commands from version 3.1 to version lalap 6:22 I finished all

memorized by heart along with its use.

The more I learned the more amazed to see DOS. How could you?

DOS programming package is accompanied by a small batch file name.

Batch files can be programmed with a program that is easy to

understand.

I also got from DOS manual. Ranging from making menu to create

address book.

I just know that time does not know what it was DOS programming. I was

not the school's known Informatics. Taunya just buy a book and then

practice in front of a computer.

Room next to my roommate in college POLYTECHNIC USU. They do

exist at the time subject BASIC programming. Wow nice ya no colorful

program can issue a siren sound, a whistling sound, sound bombs and

other noises. Can make predictions ZODIAC program. She said the

program was created with GW-BASIC.

Did you know that children Polytechnic looks a little bit proud and

arrogant when they show the results of the artificial BASIC program? They did look smart and elite simply by making the toy program.

I desperately wanted to be able to make such a program. I am looking for

information in order to learn how such a program? They say try it course.

It's time to pay tuition and meal money and money alone boarding a

mediocre pay what course mo. How sad a time it would not have the

money to learn.

Although not got the money for the course but the desire to be very strong

programming in the hearts of all his encouragement. Did you know that

the most expensive courses are computer programming course?

I want to take the road which eventually taught myself do not have to use

the course.

Microsoft in all its DOS operating system packages always include

QBASIC.EXE file?

I open the file it turns out is the file for BASIC programming tools. On the

existing tool help her in English.

There is also the point in my diligent manual DOS translate english it. I

became familiar with the English language related to computer terms.

Reading is in QBASIC help it I become accustomed. At least understood

meaning. Then I just try the examples there (this part is the most cool

part).

Here's something interesting on this computer for me.

So try immediately visible results. In contrast to studying college

textbooks on campus studying oil palm with the theory without practice.

Studied but never reap the harvest of palm directly.

I'm sure you also have a strong impulse as I used to.

It is an asset that is priceless.

Conscious or unconscious desire indeed I always wanted to be a

programmer.

Initially, it was curious to know how the programming.

Buy a book that is not too expensive is the way that I can still go. In each

book that I bought, I read his preface.

From the preface the author sometimes tell where it will follow the lessons

of his book.

Basics of programming, databases, algorithms and other basic everything

I learned from reading books and practicing.

Every E-Book and Visual Basic textbook that I have met my salad

finished reading it.

I often wonder about the college kid informatics programming. Yes his

name groped not know where his direction.

My job as a network administrator I also leave for study and go directly to

the field to be a programmer in a software house in the city field.

I did eventually learn. So kelamaannya not realize that the knowledge

learned so far is more than enough to be a programmer mediocre.

Incidentally in my new work as a programmer, many text book there.

I also have a duty to convert windows base program (visual basic) a web-

based program (asp, html, javascript, xml and ajax).

In this place did I get a new experience that is very valuable.

Did you know that the software is so when viewed from the outside

(without see the source code) will be the same whether the ordinary

programmer or programmers wrote has a lot to learn programming

techniques?

What is the point of studying programming techniques or learn more

advanced programming than programming techniques that mediocre?

This is like learning martial arts that exist in the comics or seen in the

movies. The more the techniques are studied and the higher the

knowledge learned will be more easily defeat your opponent moves.

(Read: solve the problem).

In studying the more technical programming languages you know the

more rapid and efficient means you solve programming problems.

Who would have thought now my job is to make business software for

companies.

Although the work to make this program a decent job quite heavy but

sincerity in carrying out this profession will hopefully provide a strong

motivation for you.

Learn Visual BasicTrick? Programming is very broad. Maybe you think learning Visual Basic is to

memorize all the syntax-the syntax and learn all kegunannya and

practice. What do you get if you thought like this? The result is confusion.

I once bought a book visual basic dictionary AZ and I read and I practice,

the result is I am so confused as well.

So how to learn visual basic right?

Fastest way to learn visual basic is to find instructors or teachers who are

experienced practitioners solve programming problems in the field.

If you are having trouble finding your teachers can self-taught like me.

Largely self-taught course takes a longer time. How to buy the book into

practice. This method is sometimes a bit confusing what else we come

across a code that does not run smoothly.

Try starting from the problem to be solved and then trying to solve the

problem with visual basic code.

This is the way I often do.

With this kind of activity you will be a great time saver. No need to learn a

whole syntax and components that may not have been any good for

solving your problem.

Because in the end it takes is how you play the brain to think about

solving the problems faced.

Actually the beauty of programming is that you can be creative as far as

your imagination has. Should not be limited by the rigidity that might

depicted in your mind about the usefulness of the components that exist

in the programming language tool that you learned.

To make programming ZODIAC Zodiac eg I bought the book instead of

buying a book how to make the program the zodiac.

Waktu baru belajar saya pernah membeli buku pemrograman zodiak,

saya ketik saja kode-kode yang ada di buku itu dengan harapan bisa

langsung melihat hasilnya. Maklum sebagai pemula biasanya tidak sabar

melihat hasilnya.

But what is happening. I type-type turns out there is an error code (error) I

ended up confused and dizzy. Then I leave it for a few months to learn

programming. Dizziness is).

Again, the desire is to be able to master one programming language as

ingrained as in the unconscious brain. So whatever hinders it is not

unstoppable desire.

Following the mailing list on the internet can also be a solution that might

be done to speed up your learning process.

Not a few good people on the Internet who are willing to share their

knowledge.

But you also before asking something you should already have a stock of

knowledge taught myself first, although only slightly. Inquire directly via

chat is not a good thing because this way people will take time to answer.

Remember they also have their own busyness.

So ask via e-mail you have to be patient a little.

Focus on your end result. My point here is if you intend to make business

database program you try to focus only on studying the components used

for the purposes of making the business database software.

Then click the OK button will display the IDE (Integrated Development

Environment) Visual Basic Net

as shown below:

Introduction of an IDE (Integrated Development Environment) Visual

Basic Net

1. Form: putting a control (tool) ie textbox, label, button etc.

2. Tool box: a collection of control (tool) eg: textbox, label, button.

3. Menu: The menu that can be selected

4. Toolbar: Toolbar buttons usually are short on menu

5. Project Explorer: The windows are the components that make up our

project. (Project may consist of a form, module, class, etc..)

6. Properties window: Properties window is where to set the control

(object).

Basic understanding of Visual Basic can be started from the introduction:

1. objects

2. Properties

3. event

4. Methode

1. objects

Objects can be defined for an object in this case let's say there was a

textbox object, label and comman button.

2. Properties

Properties is something that belongs to the object.

Eg: textbox has a property name or property text

Page 13: Basic Tricks Learning Visual Basic .Net 2010

Basic Tricks Learning Visual Basic .Net 2010 © Hartoto - http://www.xbasicpro.com

- 13 - Free Chapter _________________________________________________________________

3. event

Event is an occurrence of the object at any given moment.

For example: Object command button can receive click event when the

user clicks later its our software.

4. method

Method is something that can be done by the object.

For example: Object combo can add the names of the items on her with

the Add method

example: combobox1.Items.Add ("Monday")

Try the easy first.

For example the use of textbox, command button and a label.

textbox, command button and label actually had a lot of methods and

properties. For ease of understanding, you also do not need to learn all

the methods, events and properties that there was only going to make

you confused.

Try to learn the essentials event just as keypress event and click event

along with the course of time you will be familiar with the other events.

Studying the properties.

For the first phase you have learned enough property name and its value

to the textbox it like you enough to use property name and text (eg:

txtName.text = "Budi"). txtName = property its name.

"John Doe" = its text property

making property

Open a new project and then point your mouse on the Toolbox (see figure

below):

Page 14: Basic Tricks Learning Visual Basic .Net 2010

Click Common words controls on the toolbox. Should appear as shown

below:

Now we will put a textbox on the form.

how:

Double click TextBox on the toolbox (see picture below):

then a textbox appears on the form.

Point your mouse to automatically roll up and form toobox your screen

now as below:

Point your mouse propeties windows in the lower right.

Set the property name from textbox1 into txtNama (see figure below):

Giving to the object label propertie

how: mouse over the toolbox, and then navigate to the object label (see

picture below):

The label then double cli mouse over the form (the result is as shown

below):

set the label text property = Name:

(see picture below):

You see from the second picture above cursor always shows its context.

My point here is that if you point your mouse to click on one textbox

objext automatic properties in the bottom right window shows the

properties for the object textboxt. Similarly, the object label.

Using this context will greatly save your time in learning visual basic.

drag textbox (txtName) to the right side. (see picture below):

Example case:

For example, we will put a command button to the form and will give

orders on its click event.

The steps are:

1. Put the command button to the form object's how

Double cllik object command button on the toolbox (see picture)

Point your mouse over the form and then drag (drag) under the textbox to

command button (see image below):

2. Time to make the event The trick double click on button1

Once you do a double click on the command button you will see the

picture as below:

We will fill the existing txtName texbox with the words "My name is John

Doe"
