It is suitable for all ethnic groups as it covers a wide range of genres appealing to many people. It is aimed at the younger generation because the artists that will feature will be upcoming, modern musicians. People who listen to R&B/hip hop/pop music listen to radio and TV stations such as MTV BASE, Radio1 Extra and Kiss. These stations play a lot of R&B and hip hop songs so this is why they are listened to buy teenagers and young adults. They buy clothes from stores such as Nike, Adidas, Hugo Boss, Prada and Giorgio Armani. They wear stylish and high fashion clothes and so would like to see these type of clothes worn of the model on the front cover of the magazine. The target audience my magazine is aimed at is `esteem'. These people are confident and respectful. ‘Social climbers’ would also be inspired to consume this publication due to the materialism stereotypically associated to the genre.Stereotype(s):Whether correct or incorrect, the stereotypes associated with hip hop and RnB include violence, drugs, money and misogyny. The lyrics of many hip hop songs perpetuate some of these stereotypes. Pop however is stereotypically mainstream music listened to by all ages, although this is always changing.

This is another example of the target audience of my magazine. This is a teenager of black or Caribbean origin mixed with white British. The target audience is both males and females that’s why I thought it was important to include both within the audience profile. The demographic of my magazine is going to be C2 to E because stereotypically Hip Hop, RnB and some forms of pop are associated with more deprived Urban areas. The stereotype of many R&B and Hip Hop artists especially is that they are involved in gangs or drug crimeImage plays a big role in media—so big, in fact, that those stereotypical depictions may have created a stigma for all black men.
