1) Attention-deficit / hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a psychiatric disorder of the neuro-developmental type.

2) The symptoms begin by age six to twelve and be present for more than six months before making a diagnosis.

3) This diagnosed disorder is very common but the cause is unknown.4) HD is diagnosed approximately three times more frequent in boys than in

girls.5) ADHD management usually involves some combination of counseling,

lifestyle changes, and medications.6) Long term effects of medications are not clear and they are not

recommended in preschool-aged children.7) Inattention, hyperactivity, disruptive behavior, impulsivity academic

difficulties, and problems with relationships are common in ADHD.
