Purpose

To explore ideas for our horror OTS as part of our coursework.

Plan for our ideas

What is the basis for our OTS We plan to film a zombie OTS. We have decided to make the OTS non-linear with

using symbolism to show the spread and development of the virus/fungus between the non-linear shots.

There is another PowerPoint for our other ideas which is on Vampires (as part of the Gothic subgenre)

Ideas1. To film a series of news reports that jump across time, showing in

the first scene about mysterious disappearances across the country, to where people are getting attacked violent maniacs (the zombies) on the streets, and to the final scene where the Anchorman becomes a zombie. Throughout the OTS we could show the virus growing/spreading/developing between each of the time-jump cuts. We could use silence at the end to signify death. THIS IS OUR MAIN IDEA!

2. By showing the spread of a deadly virus or a fungus infection, and then showing that spread onto people, eventually turning them into zombies. It could then show them attacking people. During some of these shots we could use a handheld camera to show the people running away from the zombies from their own perspective.

How did we develop our ideas Through developing a plan in the form of a spider

diagram. By watching horror films to get an idea of what our

horror OTS could be like. By using the other assignments as a planning tool

to get us to this stage, and to give us a basis for what our horror OTS could be like.
