Why we use this?

• Improved training costs• Decreased material costs• Increased productivity• Standardization• Real-time access• Personalized learning• Knowledge management • Encourage sharing• No Biasness

E-learning for Higher Educations

• Most of the Universities and open universities also offer the distance education.

• Instead of distance education they can give distance e-learning education.– They can upload learning content. (e.g. Video,

lecture note etc.)

– They can track the students progress.

– Students can interacts with the faculty through the e-learning systems.

E-Learning and Libraries

• Create and integrate library learning objects. (eg tutorials for users)

• Allow customization of preferences for library services.

• Integrate access points to commercial databases. (e.g. EBSCO, JStore)

• Provide access to virtual reference services.

• The role of the Library in the digital rights management and preservation of e-learning asset repository is crucial.

Conclusion

• There are still some problem to implement e-learning.

• The present study focuses only on open source e-LMS.

• It was observed that Moodle evolved as the most adaptable e-LMS in comparison to the other e-LMS.

• Though all e-LMS have many common features, but there are variations.
