Area 51 is otherwise Wonderland is an American military base . It was
built in 1951 .
It is located in the western part of Lincoln County in southern Nevada , in the Gaza Nellis Air Force . Located right next to a dried salt lake Groom and Traverse Nevada . To be sure , a fragment of the desert, near the craters of nuclear testing on the adjacent training ground .
Due to the great interest of world public opinion Area 51 is questionable thesis that today there works are carried out with the highest degree of secrecy . The broad interest base , the local residents have developed a comprehensive tourism infrastructure . The U.S. authorities still struggled to maintain secrecy about the purpose of this object .
Precise satellite images have shown that there is a one of the longest runways in the world with a length of 9.5 km . It passes through Groom Lake . Around the year 2000 built a second strip of a length of 5,5 km. The airspace over the base was considered the best and most closely guarded airspace in the United States . It is approximately the size of Switzerland.
