This issue of Total Film; a mainstream film magazine that explores reviews on popular and indie films. In this issue it focuses on Inception, other stories it focuses on is Predators, Clash of the Titans and Toy Story 3. The target audience of Total Film is people who are interested in films and film reviews, these people are likely to be aged 16+, due to the mild use of language. Leonardo DiCaprio is shown on the front of this issue as he is the star of Inception, also because he is a recognisable star, popular amongst the public and therefore more likely to sell more copies.

The image seen on the front (DiCaprio) uses a direct address as it stares at the audience, this suggests the magazine wants to establish a friendly and comfortable relationship with the audience, this continues with the language used inside the magazine, as Total Film uses a coherent but casual language style. The anchorage text of the image is the film name (Inception), though this suggests that DiCaprio is a smaller star, it in fact is the opposite, as DiCaprio is such a recognisable face there is no need to label him, instead Total Film connects his name with the film so that the audience are more likely to go see it in the cinema.

The use of the word “Head Trip” suggests that the film is a mystery that will confuse but intrigue the audience, it hints to the audience what the film is about but doesn’t give enough away for it to be spoiled.

The magazine is called Total Film, this suggests that the magazine is purely and wholly about film and no other media form. The blue used in conjunction with the mist suggests mystery linking in with Inception and its narrative.

Lastly the phrase “Mind Blowing Issue”, also referred to as a grab quote which will grab the audience and make them want to buy it. Also the phrase links in with the mystery that Inception has constantly been connected with.
