WHAT IS FINANCIAL LITERACY ?

• A combination of awareness, knowledge, skill, attitude and behavior necessary to make sound financial decisions and ultimately achieve individual financial well being.

RATIONALE OF THE STUDY

The basic goal of this project is three folded: 1: To offer an overview of main issues related to financial education and women.

2: To highlight possible explanations and solutions, as well as programmes to address these.

3: Finally to identify priority areas for further relevant research. The research is also meant to be a starting point for collecting some further evidence for future researches in this area.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

1. To identify there spending patterns.2. To find out their involvement in decisions

regarding investment.3. To determine the financial knowledge and literacy

level of working women.4. To find out preferences of women among various

investment avenues.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

• Collection of primary data through questionnaire.• Sample area: Rewa (M.P).• Sample size: 50 working women.• Data interpretation & data analysis : Data

interpretation will be done with the help of bar-graph, pie chart and tables & data analysis will be done with help of chi – square and percentage method.

• Sampling technique: stratified sampling.

HYPOTHESIS

• There is no significant difference in the literacy level of women with respect to AGE.

• There is no significant difference in the literacy level of women with respect to INCOME.

• There is no significant difference in the literacy level of women with respect to OCCUPATION.

LIMITATION OF THE STUDY

• The study is limited to the age group of 25 - 65.

• Data will be collected among the working women in Rewa city, therefore the results cannot be generalized.

• Respondents may be biased.• Cost constraint.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTION

• The proposed work will help the respondent in knowing various factor that affect the decision while investing.

• The study will also work as a secondary source of data for further studies in this area.
