Stewardess / air hostess: a woman flight attendant.

Pilot / Captain: the person who is in charge and flies the plane.

Co-Pilot: person who helps the captain fly the plane

Crew: flight attendants

Cabin: interior of the aircraftrow: a number of seats beside each otherOverhead bin or locker/compartment: place above the seat where

passengers can hold their luggage.

cockpit: the part of the plane where the captain and his co-pilots sitRunway: a strip on which planes land and take off

To take off: when the plane leaves the groundTo touchdown/land: returning to the ground after being in the air

To board: get into the plane

To fasten the seatbelt: close or join securely the seat belt

Motion sickness: a bad feeling in the stomach that passengers get during a rough ride

Jet lag: tiredness due to travelling through different time zones

Bumpy fight: rough flight

Emergency exit: section of the plane that opens in the case of an accident

Turbulence: violent or unsteady movement of air or waterEmergency Landing: an unscheduled airplane landing because of an engine

failure or adverse weather. Crash Landing: an emergency landing under circumstances where a normal

landing is impossible (usually damaging the aircraft)Oxygen mask: a device that goes over a person's face which provides air. Life vest/life jacket: jacket for keeping a person afloat in water.

Fatalities: dead people Mid-air collision: when two planes collide in the air.
