DESCRIPTION

I am working at KWS (Kenya Wildlife Service) in Malindi, as a volunteer of JICA. My job is teacher of environment. This presentation is about air pollution. Cause, effect, and solution of air pollution are discussed. Also I put some case studies to encourage development in Kenya.

The case of Japan

• Japan has only few natural resources,

so we lead world by our technology

• This technology is biggest export product

EX: Toyota, Nissan, SUBARU, SONY, Panasonic, SANYO, Daikin, etc…

Page 10: Air pollution in Nairobi

Catalyst Convertor is made by

“Rare metal” and “Highly advanced technology”.

If export catalyst convertor with used car to developing countries. It will be huge loss of Japanese profit.Other country can reproduce our products.Export technology is same as betrayer to own country.

Page 11: Air pollution in Nairobi

At this moment, Japan export used car

without catalyst convertor to Kenya.

Those cars are cannot use in Japan any more,

because too old, or exhaust too much pollution.

Therefore, air pollution is biggest problem in Nairobi.

The case of Kenya

Page 12: Air pollution in Nairobi

What should you do?

• Problem 1:

Kenya has resource, but not technology

• Problem 2:

Lack of knowledge, such as the most expensive car parts “Catalyst Convertor” has removed in Japan before export.

Page 13: Air pollution in Nairobi

• Research and development

All developed countries developed by R&D to produce own products.

What Kenya should do is increase skills and develop technology to create new products.

Page 14: Air pollution in Nairobi

Case Study: Taiwan

• Many Japanese companies create products in Taiwan.

• Japanese companies took many patent. • However, products produce in Taiwan due to

cheaper excessive personnel costs.• Taiwanese studied technology in Japanese

companies and create new company.• They create new technology by mimic

technology in Japan, but not relate to patent. Ex : electric device

Conclusion

• You should know about world, develop technology, and internationalize the Kenya.

• Otherwise, Kenya will be depend on aid from developed countries forever.

• Japanese also used to depend on aid from USA after WWII, however, Japanese shame on it.

• Therefore, Japanese developed technology by ourselves and joined developed countries.

• If Kenyan want to stand on by own-self, and develop own technology, Kenya will be called “developed country” in some day.
