History (Manuel)In 1919 Alfa Romeo was part of an other french car brand called Darrac so the first name of Alfa Romeo was Darrac Italian Company of cars.

In 1920 Nicola Romeo founded a new car company using the factories of Darrac, in fact the general president of Darrac decided to sell his factories to Alfa Romeo.

During the second world war Alfa Romeo produced military vehicles and weapons for the german and Italian army. When the war ended and the comunist party took the power, Alfa Romeo stop es his production During 5 years.

In the year 2004 Alfa Romeo was bought by the international company Fiat.

Founder's life

He was borned in 1876 in Nápoles and he dead in Como in 1938.

In 1920 he founded a new car company called Alfa Romeo. Before he was the director of the Darrac Italian Company.

During the first world war he participated with the Italian goverment producing weapons.

He was married with Angelina Valadin and he had 7 sons.

After the war he bought the cars companies Tabanelli of Rome and Ferroviari Napoli.

Owner's life

Nowadays Alfa Romeo is part of the international company FIAT.

The owners of FIAT are the richest family of all Italy and the actual director of the international group is John Elkann Agnelli.

He was borned in New York in 1976 and in 2004 he was called the New president of FIAT so he is the president of FIAT, ALFA ROMEO, FERRARI and LAMBORGINI.

He studied in the university of Torino and in New York.

Its medium-term target remains 500,000 units by 2014 including 85,000 from N. American market.
