Why have you chosen your production logo?We had produced this particular production logo and it involves the images representing the generic conventions of a horror film and thriller film. The logo has blood dripping down which is also another convention. Immediately, if a person saw this they will know that this is a horror film production. The rest of the picture is grey/blackso the focus is the blood.

What is a production company? What do they do?A production company develops and produces the film. They are in charge of the pre production such as the marketing, scripting, casting etc. A production company is also responsible for the actors health and well being. They are also in charge of finding directors and fixing the locations. A large production company will usually have other companies within that can distribute the film and exhibit.

An independent film production company is similar to a major one. Likewise, they are the script makers and they usually have to do everything within the company due to having smaller budgets.

What is the job of a film distributor?Once the production of a film is finished, distributors step in by working on the film’ release strategy. They ‘distribute’ the film to different platforms such as cinemas and DVD’s while setting the release date for it as well. Film distributors secure the screenings of the film after.

Another job of a film distributor is to market the film. They need to ensure that many people go to view the film by marketing and advertising correctly and creating a buzz.

Which film distribution would you choose for your film and why? What other films have they distributed that are similar to your's?A film distributor I would choose for my film to be distributed is Dimension Films. I have chosen this company as it is a independent film distributor. My film is not produced with a high budget and doesn’t star A-list actors therefore Dimension Films would be a good distributor to go to due to being independent. This company distributed films such as Scream (1996) which is similar to my film.

How would your film be funded? lottery?The British Film Institute (BFI) distributes lottery funds for films and provides a range of support schemes for film funding. These includes:- Development funding- Production funding- Completion funding- International co-production funding

Purpose of titles, presentation of titlesWhen a film is produced, there are several different people within the company that perform different roles. These people need to be credited in the opening of a film. We have made our titles clear to read by setting a nice style. The colour of the titles were white and were put in places where the audience can see them clearly.
