lessons from the NEW Speed Stacks Sport Stacking

Instructor Guide. Learn and review the teaching techniques for the

sport stacking patterns. First time attendees will receive FREE

instruction materials.

“Establishing Norms for Assessment in Physical Education”

Would you like to establish your own norms for your school,

school district, or help establish norms for the state of

Arkansas? In the first of this 2-part session, participants will learn how

to use data collected during psychomotor testing to establish norms to

compare their students with others in their school and/or district.

“Training for Cyclists” – This is an application of exercise

physiology and exercise prescription principles to help

practitioners develop smart training plans for cyclists and

aid cyclists in avoiding injuries.

“University-wide Bullying Event—Let’s Go Statewide” – This

session describes a campus-wide Bullying Awareness Event

“Establishing Norms for Assessment in Physical Education”

Continued. In this 2nd part, participants will have the

to formulate Arkansas norms. Participants are encouraged to bring any

electronic device that gives them access to Excel or similar programs.

#7 Jump/Hoops for Heart Redbud

“Why Participate in Jump Rope/Hoops for Heart?” – This

session will teach you how to hold a successful event and give

new and improved updates. You will also learn the benefits

for teachers who participate, how to do online fundraising, and a fun

example game from American Heart Association resources.

“Dating Violence School Resources and the Law” – 2015 legis-

lation mandated the teaching of dating violence, signs of

healthy/unhealthy relationships, and safety planning. This

session will review the legislation and provide grade/age appropriate

educational materials.

“Interdisciplinary Service Project: Love Your School” – This

interdisciplinary service project, “Love Your School,” is a

Mayor’s office and implemented in 8 elementary schools.

“Instructional Effectiveness of New Teachers in Higher

Education” – Relevant topics covered in this session will be

defining effective teaching, explaining the triangulated

evaluation system for measuring teacher effectiveness created for this

research project and general thoughts on the universality of teaching.

“PE Assessment Made Easy” – Three elementary physical

“The Benefits of Exercise/Physical Activity for Children and

Young Adults with Cystic Fibrosis” – This presentation will

discuss the benefits, precautions and barriers involved with

exercise prescription and the importance of participating in school

physical education for a student with CF. A UALR student with CF will

discuss how her health has benefited from vigorous exercise and will

take questions.

Physical educators can effectively collaborate with univer-

sities to design wellness programs for employees. This

presentation will expound on ways to encourage employees to stay active,

especially during long holidays. Participants will learn how to design,

monitor, and evaluate such programs.

“Hydration, Health and Exercise Performance” – Fluid balance

is crucial for maintaining health. It is well documented that

hypo-hydration can increase physiological strain, decrease

athletic and cognitive performance, while increasing the risk

for chronic disease. This presentation will focus on the importance of

water intake in health and how even small degrees of hypo-hydration can

have negative impact on physical and cognitive performance.

school to augment the study of 20th century American History.
