Brief

I have been asked to make an advertising

campaign for a short film I have independently

created in a team of three. The promotions are

split into two sections. Unit 15 and unit 18.

Unit 15 is a print-based advertisement and unit

18 is an audio-visual promotion. Therefore, I will

be producing a film poster and a trailer for my

film, Suicide.

Pre-production material

I created a mood-board to easily portray the

typical conventions of a film trailer. As well as

this, it allows me to feature the common

interests of my target audience, including

their hobbies & places they eat. This mood-

board represents various aspects of my

audio-visual promotion, whether it relates

directly to the film itself or how its watched /

who it’s watched by. It’s a successful method

of planning to ensure I don’t miss out any

detail in my campaign.

Diagramming this mind map helpfully

aided me in generating my initial ideas

so I clearly understood what I wanted to

include in my film trailer. In it, I have

included conventions such as:

- Scenes

- Music

- Information

- Visuals / editing plan
