There is an opportunity for Surrey to be a leader in creating an integrated approach to supporting ECD

“Understanding and investing in early childhood development is a pressing issue across North America and around the globe. The positive long-term impacts of up-front investments are well documented, however this issue has yet to be fully addressed by any jurisdiction. Building on substantial existing investments, Surrey has the opportunity to be a model for implementing an integrated, data-driven approach to supporting  early  childhood  development.“

Stan Litow – IBM Vice President Corporate Citizenship & Corporate Affairs & President IBM International Foundation

• Understand how the city and its partners can make

better investments in young children and their families today to create healthier residents and a more sustainable and prosperous community for tomorrow

• Recommend approaches to better share information and insights across service providers, funders and supporters and to drive improved and sustainable outcomes in children ages 0 to 5

We were asked to use the EDI metric as a measurement of vulnerabilities in young children

“Reducing  inequality  in  child  development  will  require  us  to  bring  about  enduring  social  change...”
