Tax Free Childcare Rules Rewritten

Over the last couple of years, the United Kingdom has been witness to a lot of debate over issues pertaining to childcare. Recently, responding to the cries of worried parents, the Government came forth to announce a Tax Free Childcare scheme that promised to provide an array of benefits to parents. 

Ensuring a higher degree of government provided disabled childcare benefits in addition to relaxing eligibility conditions, the new rules came in after the authorities faced strong criticism from society. These concerns were highlighted in the feedback on the proposed regulations.

Firstly, parents will now be able to look for childcare solutions without worrying about the seven day time limit. The HMRC was compelled to understand that a week wasn’t an appropriate period of time to make arrangements for appropriate childcare solutions. Furthermore, for parents with varying incomes, the Government will now allow individuals to scale their incomes over a tax year. 

On top of this, individuals will not be expected to meet the criteria for paid work during a Shared Parental Leave.Specifically providing disabled childcare government benefits, the scheme will be ready to provide additional support to cater for the additional costs that such parents have to bear. Since the care of a disabled child requires a higher degree of assistance, the cap has been doubled to GBP 4000 for a standard 3 month entitlement while the figure is GBP 16000 for a year.

With legal problems with the Tax Free Childcare Account ironed out, the scheme is all set to help a very large number of families in the United Kingdom. With an enhanced set of benefits to parents, the scheme is expected to receive full support and praise from the public.
