� Questions will test your knowledge and understanding of topics as well as specific Geographical skills like map/photo interpretation, graph drawing and interpretation.
� You should also familiarise yourself with the many key words that have been introduced for each topic.
What should you know?
� Ecosystems: � Know he distribution of an ecosystem you have
studied, e.g. tropical rainforests. The characteristics of the ecosystem, i.e. climate, vegetation, animals.
� Exploitation of the ecosystem’s resources. � Sustainability � Be able to draw a climate graph. � Tourism: � The nature of tourism. The characteristics of tourist
locations, e.g. climate, beaches, facilities available. National Parks in the UK and their conflicts.
� The positive and negative impact of tourism on the environment. What is ecotourism? Sustainable tourism.
� Tectonic activity: � Know the structure of the earth and why plates move � Why do earthquakes and volcano activity happen? � What are the characteristics of volcanoes? � Case studies. � Can earthquake deaths be prevented? � What is a Tsunami? – What are their effects? � Geography of Crime � Know the different types of crime � Understand why certain crimes happen in particular

How to revise
� Create a mind map for each topic to include all the key words, the main elements of the topic and any case studies or examples.

Answering longer questions e.g.
� Q – Explain the consequences of deforestation (4 marks)
� Level 1 basic ◦ Soil becomes less fertile, floods can happen,

the soil so as it is used it quickly becomes less fertile. Rain is no longer intercepted by the trees so more water gets to the rivers quicker causing flooding. Habitats for people and animals are lost and the area can turn into desert.
