CENTRAL MIAMI YOUTH INTERVENTION SPECIALIST Latinos Salud is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Central Miami Youth Intervention Specialist. Working from Kendall or other central Miami-Dade location, the full-time Central Miami Youth Intervention will:
• Recruit into HIV and STD testing at-risk gay/bisexual Latinos ages 18 to 24, and their partners.
• Perform testing in office and in mobile testing outreach and special events (often late night).
• Develop, support, and guide a group of young gay Latino volunteers in planning messages to and activities for peers;
• Maintain and input accurate and timely records of staff services and outcomes; • Link into medical care and support services HIV+ clients, and support adherence; • Participate in other agency programs and committees that serve the community.
Latinos Salud is Florida’s only gay, minority-based HIV agency. With locations in Miami-Dade and Broward County, Latinos Salud seeks to reduce the burden of communicable diseases, using a community engagement model. The successful candidate will (i) have experience working in social services, education, or marketing, preferably with the Latino and / or LGBT communities; (ii) be fully bi-lingual (Spanish and English); (iii) have at least an associates’ degree, and (iv). have flexible full time availability. Candidates must also complete the Florida 500 / 501 HIV testing certification. Must have own transportation, and be willing to work a flexible schedule.
