CrowdFunding
Who will give money to my campaign?
FAQ
To raise financial support for your campaign you need a
‘crowd’
So where does your crowd come from and why should they support you?
CrowdFunding websites
do not have swarms of strangers waiting and wanting to fund CrowdFunding
campaigns
There is a small percentage of people who will back more than one project
however some studies show that more than 80% of supporters only ever back
one project
The reality of CrowdFunding is that you have to provide your own crowd
If you do not have a crowd then you will have to build one before you
launch your campaign
There are 3 main groups of supporters
your nearest and dearest those directly involved
(people you know) fans of your idea
(people you do not know)
Test your support against this formula
Assume your funds will come from: 33% - your nearest & dearest
33% - those you know personally 33% - fans and people you do not know
Irrespective of which group they come from most of your financial
support will come from those who are
most passionate
about what you have to offer
Analyse your own network first
list all the people you know then your extended network
followed by aquaintances and their extended networks
All contacts you wish to approach to support your campaign need to
know about your project before you launch
Once your campaign is underway your first group of supporters can be urged
to appeal to their own networks to expand your message to people
you do not know
At the end of the day People give money to people!
They will more readily give you their support if they know about you and
your product
