Examination - Only way to golden door to bright future
“In education an examination is a test to show the knowledge and ability of
a student. A student who takes an examination is a candidate. The person
who decides how well the student has performed is the examiner. An
examination may be a written test, an on-screen test or a practical test.” “In Exams, We Look-Up for Inspiration, Down
for Desperation & Left and Right for
Information”, some smart guy said that.
Exams are usually taken to promote
ourselves from the current position. In
today’s era, examinations have their own
level of importance depending on the level
you are. It is said that the 1st step of your
career will define your rest of the road (Up-
To some extent). Well, that more than 50% of
that 1st step your career will depend on how
you do in your examination.
Examinations are of various types. Written, Oral, Interviews, Project Submissions, Viva’s, Etc.
Depending on the colleges/ Institutes/ Universities approach of examinations and marks
and/or grade are divided accordingly. The ranks are given according to the total marks and/or
grades scored by the students in all the types of exams.
Examinations were started by the British rule in India. Once, they found out that this can be
used in every aspect of selection; they started implementing the same in all the country they
ruled. Also, other countries started doing the same in their own way.
Previously, exams were in 2 ways I.e. Written & Oral. A specific time was given with a set of
questions from the specified subject & result was according to the number of questions
answered correctly. Then, as the time passed, Marks and grades were introduced in the
exams. Also, Passing & Failing Marks were defined. Later, Project Submissions, Common
Entrance Exams, Viva’s Etc. and also regularity, obedience & behavior were also included in
the examinations.
Today, there are examinations in every field. Entrance Exams, Semester, trimester, Finals, Etc.
all these types of examinations are available in any course you select. The level of
examinations would differentiate depending on the course selected.
Examinations are just the 1st step towards your career. Next is to let companies know about
the examinations you have taken & the marks and/or grades you have scored. Today usually,
colleges help students in searching for a good opportune vacancy. But, a person cannot rely on
them, as it is not fixed that the company they found, is looking for candidate like you. Usually,
a junior position or a trainee position is provided to freshers, who just completed the exams.
But, it hard to find a vacancy who is looking for freshers like you.
There are many ways to get a job in companies as a fresher. Newspaper, Recruitment
consultants, College campus placements, Job Portals are the few of the ways to get a job as a
fresher. Some give good results, but are time consuming & some give results without wasting
much time. One job portal, which I just came across, is one of the portals who are dedicated to
provide jobs especially for freshers.
