Holidays are all about fun, frolic and enthusi-asm, and that was what my recent vacationtrip to Nainital - The City of lakes, was all

about. I had heard that Nainital is a beautiful placethat leaves one awestruck. The place brings onecloser to nature and it surely left me mesmerisedwith its breathtaking beauty.

We got up quite early that morning and after a 7-hour-long drive from Chandigarh we finally reachedNainital. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel amidst thegracious hospitality by the warm staff and delectablefood there. A long walk at the Nainital Mall Roadoffered a picturesque view of the Naini Lake. A visit toNainital Zoo was really the best attraction for a wildlifelover like me. The high altitude, well maintained zoo ishome to numerous animals and birds. Itwas a great learning experience as Isaw a wind turbine there and learntabout its working. After Nainital, wemade our way to the Land of Roars andTrumpet – Jim Corbett National Park.The huge national park stretch-es over a vast expanse sup-porting diverse animal and plantspecies. It is a perfect place toexperience adventure by spotting

endangered animals and varied fauna and flora. After arefreshing cool dip in the resort’s swimming pool wewent on a pre-booked safari. The biggest attractions ofthe Jim Corbett Reserve are the Bengal tigers andAsiatic elephants, but I wasn’t lucky enough to catch asight of any of them. As we moved into the thickrugged forest in open jeeps, I experienced the beautyof lush green forests and wilderness while spottingdeer, monkeys and peacock. A number of rivulets criss-crossed through the park; it was indeed a tryst withnature. It was simply an awesome experience enjoyingthe serene ambience of Uttarakhand, as we kept ourcameras ready to capture the scenic beauty and thelovely moments spent together with family. The pictur-esque hills, the pleasant weather, winding hill road andtall pine trees kissing the azure sky are enough reasonsto call this a perfect holiday filled with lots of fun.
