Wellesley College Alumnae Association
Alumnae Leadership Council 2009
WelcomeOn behalf of the Wellesley College Alumnae Association Board of Directors and staff, as well as our partners in the Office for Resources and the Office of Admission, welcome back to campus for the 86th annual Alumnae Leadership Council. We hope you will be energized by the workshops and inspired by fellow volunteer leaders, and at the same time enjoy the beauty of our campus in October as the leaves are turning.
Those of you who have attended Alumnae Leadership Council in recent years will notice that we have made some changes to the agenda, in particular, a shortened program. Based on input from last year’s attendees, coupled with financial considerations, this year’s program runs from lunch on Saturday through lunch on Sunday. During this 24-hour period, you will have an opportunity to hear from current students with Wellesley-funded internship opportunities, tour the campus, learn about new initiatives on campus, and of course, learn more about your volunteer roles.
A highlight of the weekend will be the reception and dinner on Saturday night, when we will celebrate your service to Wellesley. In addition, during dinner, you will have the opportunity to hear from H. Kim Bottomly, Wellesley’s President. On Sunday, we’ll close the weekend with a lunch featuring Jennifer Desjarlais, Dean of Admission and Financial Aid. Jenn is always a favorite speaker as she discusses the composition of the current student body and the challenges and opportunities of recruiting students in today’s environment.
I look forward to meeting as many of you—our most dedicated volunteer leaders—as I can, and to hearing your feedback. Thank you for all you do for Wellesley. I’m sure it will be a wonderful weekend.
Warm regards,
Susan Challenger ’76Executive DirectorWellesley College Alumnae Association
