On The Farm How many of you have lived on or visited a farm? A
good farmer knows the best time to plant crops. He would watch the
crops and would get excited when the plants started to grow. The
first plant to sprout from the ground is called the first
fruit.

fruits is Bikkurim In this week's parasha, Moses teaches us that
the first fruits (Bikkurim) of the crops should be brought to the
priests in the Temple.

the LORD your God is giving you for an inheritance and have taken
possession of it and live in it, you shall take some of the first
of all the fruit of the ground, which you harvest from your land
that the LORD your God is giving you, and you shall put it in a
basket, and you shall go to the place that the LORD your God will
choose, to make his name to dwell there.

How Was The First Fruit Identified The Farmer would tie a
string or ribbon around it and designate it as bikkurim. At the
Temple, each family would present the basket of fruits to a kohen
(priest). The LORD wants the best of everything in our lives.
