We are a community of believers centered on the Eucharist, the Word of God and
Catholic tradition. Together, we give witness to our faith through the Sacraments,
good works of service and prayer.
The Way and the Vehicle
Of all the “I” statements of Jesus in the gospels the most poignant and thought-provoking is that when he said: “I am the Way, the Truth, the Life”. Jesus did not mean to reject, as the fundamentalists claim, all other ‘ways, de-molish all other ‘truths’ and negate alternate forms of life’. Far from any such exclusivism, Jesus asserted this at the Last Supper when He demonstrated the attitude of the ‘servant-master’. The ‘way’ of Jesus is an inclusive path of love, service and self-sacrifice animated by right thinking (Truth) and right action (Life). Are we inclined to speak the inclusive words to embrace all others, regardless of any mundane differ-ence, into the one love-fold of Jesus which would certainly challenge us to the radical commitment to service and sacrifice? When Jesus affirms, “I am the Way”, he informs us that His word is the Truth that must map all our movements. Amidst alluring ‘ways’ that mislead us, Christians, away from the Truth, Jesus assures His presence with us at every turn of life’s road. Not only is Jesus the Way, but He is also ‘The Vehicle’ who carries us onward, heavenward. As we celebrate ‘Mothers’ Day’, the best role-model who submitted herself comprehensively is our Blessed Mother who leads us through the Way to find the Truth and cher-ish His Life. Happy Mothers’ Day! Fr. Amal

THE PRAYERS OF FATIMA 100 years ago today, the Blessed Virgin appeared to the
three shepherd children, Lucia, St. Francisco and St. Jacinta.
But before that in Fall 1916 an angel calling himself the
Angel of Peace and the Guardian Angel of Portugal ap-
peared 3 times to them. He taught the children many
prayers, and at his third appearance brought them the
Blessed Sacrament from Heaven.
My God,
I believe,
I adore,
I hope and
I love Thee!
I ask pardon for those
who do not believe,
do not adore,
do not hope and
do not love Thee.
