newproducts
The ‘timeless luxury’ of the collection offers a different and unique look to the usual traditional Victorian flair and consequently presents a ‘beautiful era’ within today’s bathroom industry. Arcade will work well in either a traditional or contemporary interior, offering customers another choice when designing their dream bathroom. This collection is the personification of the modern bathroom echoing the industry’s stance on the importance of a bathroom space in the household. The collection offers something different within the bathroom industry, not just with the cosmetics, but also with the production. The PVD nickel finish has been favoured to ensure maximum durability, compared with the normal fragile nickel that is usually selected. Its resilience means that Bathroom Brands can use this finish for a range of products, including enclosures, baths and fittings with assurance. Additionally, this means that Bathroom Brands has possibly
set the standard for other manufacturers to follow suit and opt for the PVD nickel finish to achieve maximum quality in their luxury ranges. Arcade signals a new wave in luxury bathrooms, emphasising the need for a relaxing space away from life’s stresses and strains, whilst indulging in lavish and beautiful surroundings. The collection will be available to purchase from Claygate, around August/September time. As well as the arrival of Arcade, there have been a few changes at Bathroom Brands. Aqua Cabinets, Cleargreen and Zamori are no longer stand-alone brands, but collections within Britton Bathrooms. By re-labelling Britton as ‘stylishly contemporary’ and transferring the previous brands over, it indicates that Bathroom Brands has carefully considered what each of its brands does and where they are positioned in the market. For more information about these changes or about the Arcade collection, please contact Sales on 01622 833633.
Bathroom Brands have unveiled a new luxury brand called Arcade to add to their extensive portfolio. Available exclusively to approved dealers, the brand includes ‘beautifully crafted ceramic sanitaryware, decadent
free-standing baths and superb showering masterpieces’, that reflect the Belle Époque period of pre-First World War Paris.
We understand that the theme of public washrooms has rapidly changed and adapted for the modern era. In similar circumstances to bathrooms, washrooms have become more important within the overall look and feel of a commercial space. The stylish, luxurious design of modern washrooms enhances the way in which staff and visitors view the commercial premises or company. Polished accessories, such as hand dryers, soap dispensers and toilet roll holders complete a clean, stylish look that many commercial premises look for. These items are available in different finishes to compliment all themes and designs of a washroom. Washroom Solutions was created in order to focus more on this side of the bathroom industry, helping our customers
to quote for contracts within this market. Depending on area, products are available for next day delivery and some collections offer a range of colours to cater for every type of commercial space.

staffnewsWe said ‘farewell’ to our Sales Co-Ordinator, Aaron Jones in March. Aaron worked for Claygate for three years, acquiring a strong basis for his new role and building a great rapport with our customers. He has taken this valuable experience and applied it to the other side of the bathroom industry.

Another to fly the Claygate nest is Credit
Controller, Emma Emanuel. Emma started working for
Claygate nearly seven years ago, joining the Sales team and progressed into Accounts shortly after the company moved to
bigger premises. Taking her extensive knowledge and
experience, Emma is now a city girl, commuting to
London everyday.
After nine years, Area Sales Manager, Andy Tattersall left Claygate in May to start a new chapter at one of our top manufacturers, Roca, as one of their Area Sales Managers. Andy has gained valuable experience and the skills to continue managing the South East region, for one of the world’s stylish and reputable bathroom manufacturers. Thus, he is now our rep for Roca and we shall be working with him closely on a regular basis.

We have had a few departures and arrivals at Claygate recently.
We will miss them all, but we hope they enjoy their new jobs and we wish them good luck!
Emma
We have also seen the arrival of Bryony Clayson, taking on the new role of Assistant to the Directors’ PA, emphasising the continuous expansion within the company. Whilst assisting PA, Gemma, Bryony has already gained a great insight into the Human Resources side of Claygate, helping to organise events and carry out everyday tasks around the premises.
Bryony
Alex S Roberts joined the Sales department earlier this year and has settled in quickly. Under Heather’s supervision, Alex has confidently learnt the ropes and is currently building a strong rapport with customers. He will be working closely with Shannon on Team A, looking after Paula’s customers.
Alex
We would also like to send our congratulations to another two members of our staff. Customer Services Supervisor, Claire Rootes and her partner Andrew are expecting their first baby and Sales Co-Ordinator, Karina Matthews and her husband, Paul are expecting their second. Both Karina and Claire are due in the Autumn and we would like to send our congratulations and best wishes to them all!
Claire Karina
Cera, Justin and their son Oscar
We will be looking forward to working with them all in the upcoming months.
Our Sales Co-Ordinator, Kerry Fuller is moving to our Customer Services department on 16th June. Due to our Customer Services Supervisor, Claire departing for maternity leave in the Autumn, Kerry will be learning the side of our aftersales care, gaining experience beyond the point of sale and supporting our customers with any problems that may arise.
Due to Andy’s departure, there
have been some alterations in our
ASM areas. ASM Tom Bolton, whose area
covered South West London to South Wales, will now be taking over the South East, whilst we introduce our new ASM, Debbie Bowen for Tom’s previous area. Debbie has a vast amount of experience in the Sales industry,
previously working as Area Sales Executive
for MX Group and Area Sales Manager for TC
Bathrooms.
Spring brought another little bundle of joy to Claygate, as our Sales Co-Ordinator, Cera Thorpe gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Ava Wish Thorpe. Weighing 8lbs, 3oz, Ava made her way into the world at 10.15pm on Wednesday 12th March, with a full head of dark hair! Congratulations to Cera, her husband Justin, (from our Warehouse department) and Oscar!

We have had a few departures and arrivals at Claygate recently.
Like all of our departments, Transport is a vital piece of the puzzle. However, its operation is
not always obvious to everyone and it certainly requires a lot of organisation. We have 32 Mercedes and Iveco vehicles on site; 24 of them are 7 ½ tonne lorries and 8 of them are 3 ½ tonne vans. Drivers arrive for the new working day between 4am and 7am, depending on their destination, with their vehicles fully loaded from the previous night. Our drivers cover miles and miles of our delivery areas, especially as our new regions of Norfolk, Suffolk and South Wales are becoming busier each week. Life on the road can be rewarding, yet sometimes isolating. We see the images from our driver, Dave Scott aka Tarquin on our Facebook and Twitter pages, displaying their beautiful and tranquil surroundings whilst delivering orders to our customers in the West Country and we see that they have the fantastic opportunity to
experience and visit the most picturesque places in the UK. Yet, for others, they can experience long periods of time with no interaction or communication apart from our customers for a few minutes at a time. Take for instance, one driver, Stuart who makes the journey from our premises to Poole, its surrounding areas and back in one day. That’s 400 miles covered, equating to 2,000 miles each week! Pretty impressive we think! During the bad weather at the end of last year, our drivers endured high winds, heavy rain and battling through high water to get orders to our customers. It goes without saying that they are circumstances that are beyond our control, but our drivers worked extremely hard to overcome these obstacles. Another factor that our drivers have to face is parking, in London in particular. It has always been a huge problem and it’s set to become worse as time goes by. With all the restrictions and
traffic, parking outside a customer’s showroom in the Capital is a tricky task. Cameras have now been installed at the front and rear of the vehicles, ensuring extra security when parking and unloading. Like all of our departments, Transport is a vital piece of the puzzle. We are very proud of our fleet and those who have been here a while will tell you that due to the distinctive look of our vehicles, you will start to see them everywhere in no time at all!

It has been calculated that one driver has driven 100,000 miles in the past 13 months!

AVERAGE PRICE INCREASES FROM 2ND JUNE 2014
Polypipe average 7.5%Please note the following products will have a price increase from 2nd June 2014
As Brazil is hosing the World Cup this June, we are organising at fancy dress day aptly named, ‘Football Funday’ on Tuesday 24th June. Claygate staff will pay £1 each for dressing up in something patriotic for the day. All money raised will be donated to Kent Air Ambulance, supporting them and the fantastic work they do. As last year’s event was such a success, we will be participating in the Dragon Boat Race at Bewl Water in Lamberhurst on Saturday 13th September. Approximately 30 members of staff will be attending the event, with at least 20 competing as
a team in three races and the rest assisting with the tombola stall by the marquee. All funds raised will be in aid of local charity, Kent Air Ambulance. More information about our Just Giving page and fundraising from the boat race and fancy dress will be provided in the next few weeks, so keep your eyes peeled on our Facebook and Twitter pages! Your support is greatly appreciated, as always!
charitynewsIt’s that time again where we take full
advantage of famous events and raise as much as possible for a great cause!
To make our website a more useful tool for our customers, we have added a ‘Products’ tab at the top of the homepage. This tab includes technical specification and any additional information that might be helpful. We are in the process of including the majority of the products we stock, section by section, mirroring the order shown in our Price Book. As you can imagine, this will take some time. However, for now, we have ensured that our own brands of Artésan, G,
Aquanite and Planet are available, as well as a few other products that many of our customers regularly ask information on. Also added under the ‘Products’ tab is Polypipe. Although we cannot list every individual item of Polypipe, of course, we have downloaded and attached the latest brochures so our customers can locate what they need as soon as possible. We will keep you updated on the progression of the rest of our portfolio in the coming months.
