The leader of the Matt DayBand is a Burleson native wholives in Rio Vista and has beenplaying music for about 16years. He’s adept on bass, drumsand guitar.

He started writing songs,formed a band and won a sing-er/songwriter contest sponsoredby 92.1 FM, where he thenregularly performed live on themorning show. Recently teamedwith lead guitarist Jeremy Van-derburg and other musicians,Day is working on a CD projectand plays acoustic gigs aroundthe Metroplex. The band’s mu-sic has many influences from arock ‘n’ roll background to astrong country upbringing thatcreate a music style all its own.

Jeremy Vanderburg, 26, is aJoshua native who’s been play-ing guitar for about three years.His musical influences rangefrom Metallica to Ragweed.

Peach Festival’s main stageis at the corner of Palo Pintoand South Waco streets, in theFirst Baptist Church parkinglot.

Dorothy Glenn has a rep-utation for assembling excep-tional shows featuring thefinest of local performers.

Little Miss Dyna-MiteChandler Bennett and herband get things started. The8-year-old from Mansfieldhas a voice that earned herthird-place in the ColgateCountry Showdown and gother gigs with Charlie Pride,Sonny Burgess and JohnnieHigh’s Country Music Re-vue.

Jacob and Jordan Hackettof Plainview bring ClearFork to the stage next withsome Bob Wills westernswing. Their family spendspart of their annual vacationat Peach Festival becausethey love its tradition and itsaudiences love the boys’fiddle and guitar.

Cowboy Country Bandhas Gerald Ray on lead gui-tar and vocals, Ray Austinon steel guitar, Tony Guidrozon drums and vocals, andJames Glenn on bass. Spe-cial guest Ryan Guidroz sitsin on drums. The 12-year-old Stephenville kid comesto Peach Festival each yearwith his dad, just to help theband.

Johnny Johnson and theMemory Makers Band per-forms traditional countrymusic and gospel. They’vemade a CD called AngelsDon’t Lie, which is No. 2 onthe Power Source Magazineand Western Swing top 10.

Texas Best features Dur-wood Strube on lead vocalsand rhythm guitar, LarryReed on vocals and sax,Teddy Driskill on lead gui-tar, Lanney Butler on bassand special guest Neil Butler(Strube’s grandson) on bassand vocals.

The Band formed aroundTommy Hughes’ fiddle play-

ing and lead vocals includes hisgranddaughter and fellow fiddler,7-year-old Jessica Sell.

Stampede Band has Bob Bone onfiddle, Albert Tally on steel guitar,Dick Bridges on bass and lead vo-cals, Leonard Hill on drums andTruman Hudson on guitar and vocals.

Bluegrass is a father-daughter duoof Justine and Justine Blakely.They’ve been touring festivals andcoffee shops for six years, with Jus-tine on banjo and Justin on fiddle,mandolin and guitar. For their PeachFestival debut, the Springtown nativespromise a little bluegrass, some alternativerock, some folk and a unique sound.

Danielle Reed is a Boyd High Schoolhonor student who sings and plays rhythmguitar and fiddle. Her CD is called Dan-ielle Reed: My Country.
