The di user whichtops o the cone, where one of thetwo LED boards is installed, is inPMMA with a prismatic pattern andcurved on the edges. The upper LEDboard is protected by a brandedPMMA disc. The large round colouredbase is made of epoxy powder coatedmetal; while the LED transformer ishoused inside the metal and steelballast beneath the coloured base.The transparent electrical cable is

tted with a dimmer which can beused both to adjust the level ofluminous intensity gradually or as theON/OFF switch.

Twice as Twiggy, terraby Marc Sadler

The Twiggy lamp needs no introduction: designed by Marc Sadler who was inspired by the exibility of a shing rod, it hasbecome an icon of contemporary design. Today, Twiggy has grown and become “oversized” in the Twice as Twiggy version: asigni cantly sized lamp dedicated to large rooms, which nevertheless retains the lightweight feel and exibility of the originalversion. This goal has been achieved thanks to genuine technical artistry: the long arched rod in fact retains a slim diameter,thanks to a steel cable which is concealed within it, while thelampshade, which is both large and extremely light-weight, isbalanced by the appropriately sized base.

Marc Sadler boasts lengthy experience asan industrial designer in the eld of sports,which has often led him to experiment withnew materials and innovative productionprocesses.

This innovative and experimental approachhas become his modus operandi, even whenhe designs for sectors which aretraditionally more focused on the stylingcomponent. He has won four Compassid’Oro ADI, including the one for Mite andTite in 2001, for projects which havebecome genuine icons in the Foscarinicollection, together with Kite, Twiggy, Tressand Jamaica, each one marked bytechnological and styling innovation.
