The elastic and coloured graphic appeal of Twiggy is an unmistakable sign inspace, an exemplary marriage between the designer’s eclectic creativity andFoscarini’s research in the eld of materials and technologies. Suspended on adetachable rod made of composite material, exible like a shing rod,heightadjustable using a system of counterweights, Twiggy is a simple and geniusidea, which has become an Foscarini icon and awarded outstanding successamong both the public and the critics. The di user guarantees direct lighting inthe area underneath the lamp and - thanks to the transparency of the upperprotection disk - di uses a cosy ambient light. This lighting emotion is alsovouched by Led version – a ording high energy e ciency levels and durability -completely re-engineered in terms of lighting technology especially to ensure thesame intensity, di usion and temperature as the light produced by the originalversion.

Floor lamp with direct and indirect light. Di user and rod made of breglass–based composite material and liquid coated.Translucent polycarbonate upper di user disc, PMMA lower di user disc with polyprismatic internal surface. Epoxy powdercoated metal round base. Supplied with 4 counter–weights to be inserted in the purpose–provided seat above the di user toadjust its height. For LED version the circuit boards were purpose–designed by Foscarini, to achieve a superior level of colorrendering (CRI) and retaining the same colour temperature as a halogen light source (Kelvin). The two LED circuit boards areinstalled on an aluminium disc that acts as a dissipator, and the upper board is protected by a small PMMA disc. Additional arc–extending rods available upon request; the black cable is tted with a dimmer which can be used both to adjust the level ofluminous intensity gradually or as the ON/OFF switch.

Marc Sadler boasts lengthy experience asan industrial designer in the eld of sports,which has often led him to experiment withnew materials and innovative productionprocesses.
