6 ISIS men conspired to carry out terror acts: NIA to courtNEW DELHI, July 18:

Six suspected ISIS operativeswere allegedly conspiring to carryout terror activities in nationalcapital and adjoining regions andduring Ardh Kumbh in Haridwarto terrorise people, the NIA todaytold a special court.

According to the sources, inits charge sheet filed beforeDistrict Judge Amar Nath,National Investigation Agency(NIA) claimed that the accusedwere planning to assembleImprovised Explosive Devices(IEDs) from explosive materialsextracted from "match sticks".

The court has put up thecharge sheet for consideration

on August 25.The charge sheet was filed

against Akhlakur Rehman, MohdAzeemushan, Mohd Meraj, MohdOsama, Mohsin Ibrahim Sayyedand Yosuf-Al-Hindi under Section120 B (conspiracy) of IPC andseveral provisions of UnlawfulActivities (Prevention) Act(UAPA) in the case.

While the five accused arecurrently in judicial custody,Yosuf-Al-Hindi is wanted in thecase.

"They were conspiring tocarry out a terror activity in thearea of Delhi/NCR and duringArdh Kumbh festival in Haridwarin order to create terror in the

minds of people of India and sendglobal message that they are rep-resentatives of ISIS in India," thecharge sheet said.

It further added that the"accused owed their allegianceto Islamic State/Islamic Stateand Levant (ISIL)/ Islamic Stateof Iraq and Syria (ISIS) to fur-ther its activities in India by wayof motivating Muslim youths inthis regard and ultimately trainand prepare them to carry outterror activities in India and alsoto shift them to countries likeSyria, Iraq etc."

"...They were conspiring tocarry out terror acts by plantingIEDs during the Ardh KumbhMela, Haridwar, and for this,they were in the process ofacquiring explosives and thenecessary expertise in assem-bling the IEDs with the help ofliterature provided to one ofthem through internet," thecharge sheet said.

The case was filed by thespecial cell of Delhi Police onJanuary 18, 2016. On the direc-tions of Ministry of HomeAffairs (MHA), the case was

later transfered to NIA. The report further said that

the members of the gang were intouch with each other throughmobile phones and various othercommunication platforms suchas WhatsApp, Surespot, Twitter,Trillian, Skype and Facebook.

"Their association with eachother is established on recordand the recovery of explosivesin the form of explosive materi-als from the matchsticks. Theextraction of explosive nmateri-als from match sticks was to beused for assembling of IEDs,"the report said.

"Incriminating pictures ofslain ISIS terrorists... videoscontaining different Muslimclerics giving motivationalspeeches regarding religion,Jehadi literature, blood shed-ding, bombardment videos, hatespeeches and explanation ofhow to prepare IEDs with thehelp of match sticks and fire-crackers, audio files containingprovocative religious preachingof Maulana Masood Azhar andothers against Hindus," thecharge sheet said. Locos to have radar based device to navigate in bad weather

NEW DELHI, July 18:

Eager to enhance visibilityof loco drivers during badweather, railways has firmed anaction plan to install a device ofinfra-red video camera withradar-based system on locomo-tives.

Aptly named Tri-Netra, thedevice aims to enhance thevision of locomotive pilots ininclement weather.

According to a seniorRailway Ministry official, theterrain imaging for diesel driv-ers infra-red, enhanced opticaland radar assisted system (Tri-Netra) will be a great help fortrain operation during winterand heavy rain.

The system shall be made upof high-resolution optical video

camera, high sensitivity infra-red video camera and addition-ally a radar-based terrain map-ping system.

These three components ofthe system shall act as threeeyes (Tri-Netra) of the locomo-tive pilot.(PTI)
