Our Principals !David Sowells -‐ Founding Partner !David is an expert in interna;onal strategic communica;ons. He has advised numerous governments, corpora;ons and non-‐profits including HSBC on poli;cal engagement, Trafigura on grassroots and media rela;ons, and the Interna;onal Execu;ve Service Corps on social media and corporate rela;ons. David has held a series of senior posi;ons in interna;onal communica;ons agencies including the Bell Poknger Group and Fleishman Hillard. He served as Public Affairs Director of CNN Interna;onal and AOL Time Warner Europe, and was Vice Chairman of the UK Satellite and Cable Broadcasters Group. He started his career as an economist in the House of Commons. David studied at the London School of Economics and Harvard Business School, and has run successful businesses in Washington DC, London and Brussels. !Chuck Conconi -‐ Chairman, Advisory Board !Veteran journalist and author, Chuck Conconi has more than 40 years experience in television, radio and print journalism. Chuck was editor-‐at-‐large of The Washingtonian, and previously an editor of the “Style” sec;on and author of the daily “Personali;es” (now “Reliable Source”) column at The Washington Post. He has worked extensively on radio and television on such networks as FOX, NBC and CNN Interna;onal. Chuck has wriYen two books (The Energy Balloon and The Washington S;ng) and was a Press Secretary in the US Senate. He has served as a visi;ng lecturer at numerous universi;es. He currently serves as Chairman of Qorvis Communica;ons. Conconi also hosts the con;nuing video series, Focus Washington, and has interviewed several ambassadors from such na;ons as Saudi Arabia, Libya, Cyprus, Pales;ne, Greece, Italy, South Sudan, the Netherlands, Lithuania, and several Caribbean island na;ons. !Charles N. Andreae, III – Government Rela7ons, Poli7cal Risk Management !Chip Andreae is a strategic business consultant with exper;se in poli;cal affairs and poli;cal risk management. Chip has had extensive exposure to the Washington establishment, with par;cular focus on foreign policy. He worked for 15 years on Capitol Hill, including 4 years with the Senate Select CommiYee on Intelligence and 5 years as Chief of Staff for Senator Richard Lugar. As Chief of Staff, Chip led numerous Senate staff delega;ons to the Near East, La;n America and Africa. Working with the Interna;onal Republican Ins;tute, Chip helped train newly created poli;cal par;es for two years in Bulgaria, two years in Romania, and two years in South Africa. He also has served on over a dozen elec;on observer missions around the world on behalf of the U.S. Government. !Luke Chauveau – Strategic Communica7ons, Media Rela7ons !Luke is a specialist in strategic, media and government communica;ons. Based in London, and a Partner of Bell Poknger Geo-‐Poli;cal, Luke’s clients have included Presidents, Prime Ministers, Ambassadors and governments across the Middle East and Africa, including President Yar’adua of Nigeria, President Banda of Zambia, and the governments of the UAE and Gabon. Sandra Charles -‐ Government Rela7ons and Foreign Policy !Sandra Charles advises foreign governments on their rela;ons with the US Government. She served the US Government for many years as a member of the Na;onal Security Council (NSC) staff of the White House and in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interna;onal Security Affairs (OASD ISA). Career highlights include advising Presidents Reagan and Bush and their senior staff on poli;co-‐military issues in North Africa, the Middle East, Southwest and South Asia, including Opera;on Desert Storm. Ms. Charles was presented with the Secretary of Defense Medal of Meritorious Civilian Service in 1988 for her service in the Defense Department. She serves as a member of Dentons’ Global Business Intelligence Unit. !Joey Nichols -‐ Public Affairs, Events, Fund-‐Raising !Joey has 20 years experience of public affairs, fund-‐raising, and event management. Her fund-‐raising clients have including candidates for Governor, United States Senate and Congress. She was the lead fund-‐raising consultant for both US Senate races of former White House Chief of Staff Erskine Bowles. She also worked as a senior fund-‐raising and VIP management consultant for the Democra;c Na;onal CommiYee conven;on. Joey has managed hundreds of events ranging from small in;mate mee;ngs to major fundraising dinners and mul;-‐day conferences. !Bill McSweeny – Member, Advisory Board !Bill McSweeny has had a long and dis;nguished career, culmina;ng in his appointment as President of Occidental Interna;onal Corpora;on. Bill started his career as an infantryman in the Korean War, becoming an award-‐winning war correspondent in Vietnam and Israel, and later joining the staff of President Lyndon Johnson. Four Presidents have appointed Bill to various posts, including UNESCO, Special Envoy to the USSR, Special Ambassador to Bolivia, Special Ambassador to Oman, President's Representa;ve to Korea, and Co-‐Chair of the NATO 50th Anniversary at the White House.
