Train The Trainer in Clinical Audit is a one-‐day course that provides delegates with the key skills required and confidence to train others in clinical audit methodology. Overview A report by the Na1onal Audit Office in 2007 recommended that more clinical audit training needs to be made available to healthcare professionals. Both the Department of Health and the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership have subsequently flagged up the need for more clinical audit training. This course will serve as a “train the trainers” resource, providing clinical audit trainers with a validated na1onal qualifica1on that will also enable successful learners to deliver accredited audit training through the Clinical Audit Support Centre within their own organisa1on. Who should a0end? If you are involved in clinical audit and have a responsibility for delivering clinical audit training to other healthcare professionals, this course will be perfect for you. Course content and material ² How to deliver an introductory clinical audit training session ² GeUng the right balance – mixing theory, prac1cal advice and fun ac1vi1es! ² How to structure and write lesson plans ² How to profile your learners and assess their needs ² Understanding how individuals learn – e.g. styles, environment, etc ² How to deal with difficult situa1ons that you may encounter ² Presenta1on skills – delivering a presenta1on to your peer group. Delivery The course is delivered in Leicester by Stephen Ashmore and Tracy Ruthven who both possess na1onally recognised teaching qualifica1ons and who have delivered accredited courses since 1997. Stephen and Tracy are renowned for their exper1se in clinical audit training and since the course was launched in 2008 over 100 professionals have a^ended the training (sa1sfac1on rate from delegates is 99% posi1ve). They have presented at many na1onal conferences in rela1on to the delivery of clinical audit training and have developed E-‐learning materials for the Royal Pharmaceu1cal Society of Great Britain and the Royal College of General Prac11oners. Course costs and how to book your place The course costs £250+VAT (£300) for the accredita1on or £200+VAT (£240) for a^endance only, with a 10% discount for group bookings.
