TOP 5 TIPS TO IMPROVE YOUR
ANDROID’S BATTERY LIFESMART TECH
WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?
We use our Android devices for more things than ever before which is why we
aren’t optimising the bigger battery benefits.
As screen sizes have been keeping pace with the increased battery size, here
are our top tips for making your Android smartphone last for longer:
1. USE POWER SAVING MODE
Most Android manufacturers include a form of power-saving mode where you
can shut down specific apps when your battery reaches below a predetermined
level.
Android Lollipop has a power saver option built in, but if you don’t have the most
recent operating system check try out an app such as Juice Defender, which is
designed to manage battery draining components.
2. HIBERNATE APPS
If you install Greenify it will process what is running on your Android device and
will automatically hibernate apps that aren’t being used, so they won’t drain your
battery until you open them.
To take full advantage you’ll have to root your device which is a simple process
but will take a little time to manage the process.
3. STREAMLINE YOUR HOME SCREEN
If you have lots happening on your home screen, it will inevitably require more
battery life. Remove widgets you don’t use or need, and reduce refreshing rates
by having a static wallpaper instead of live wallpapers.
5. NO VIBRATIONS
Vibrate mode is an unnecessary battery killer for your Android smartphone. Turn
off vibrations for key presses in Settings > Language and input the options for
the keyboard you are using. You can also turn off ‘sound on keypresses’.
