PRINCIPAL’S REPORT It was wonderful to see so many grandparents visiting
classrooms on Monday for our annual Grandparent’s Day.
Students and teachers enjoyed the opportunity to show off
some of the great things they do every day and appreciate
the support shown by all family members including our
amazing grandparents.
Our students have been busy this week with events such as
Thalgarrah excursions for Kindergarten, Far Out Science
Day and Milo Cricket for students in Years 4, 5 and 6. A big
thank you must go to teachers and school staff for the time
and effort they put into organising these opportunities for
students to learn from and enjoy. Last week our Year 4
students went to Lake Keepit Sport and Recreation Centre
and thoroughly enjoyed the wide variety of activities and
experiences offered. Thank you to Mrs Ridley, Miss Hague
and Mr Commens for accompanying the students and
spending time away from their own families. In Week 6,
Years 5 and 6 students will be going on their Newcastle
excursion – thank you to Mrs MacGregor, Mrs Kelly, Ms
Joyce, Mr Townsend and Mr MacGregor for volunteering
their own time to ensure students have this tremendous
opportunity available to them.
Congratulations to Chiyo, Laura, Oliver, Angus, Noah and
Gideon on their outstanding efforts at the NSW PSSA
Athletics championships held in Homebush last week. You
represented our school, your families and North West
PSSA with distinction. Well done to Oliver on winning the
11 years Long Jump. He will now represent NSW at the
School Sport Australia Championships – a great
achievement.
If parents have any friends who are thinking about where
their child may commence schooling in 2017, please
encourage them to contact the school office. Parents who
have children for Kindergarten 2017 should also let the
school office know if they have not already done so.
This Sunday, 30 October our P&C will be holding a car wash
and cake stall at Cascades Car Wash from 9am – 12pm. Cost
for a wash is $10 per car and all money raised will go back
into supporting all students at Armidale City Public School –
all community members are invited to bring their car along
and join in with the fun.

P&C NEWS
Our CAR WASH is this Sunday, 30 October at
Cascades Car Wash. 9am—12pm.
We still need volunteers to come and wash cars
and sell cakes!
Please drop off any cake stall donations to the Staff
Room by Friday afternoon or directly to the Car Wash
on Sunday.
If it is raining then we will postpone the car wash to
Sunday 20 November but we may be able sell the
cakes at the Markets in the Mall. If you would be
willing to run a stall in the mall in conjunction with
the Schools Spec fundraisers, if you have questions,
still want to volunteer or need to check about the
wet weather plans call or text Tina on 0404 854 296.
A special thank you this week to Cherie, Vicki and
Carol in the School Office for making all of the flyers
for the Car Wash—it was a huge job!
Our next P&C Meeting is next
Wednesday 2 November at 6:30pm
in the School library.
Everyone is welcome.
ACPS Blue & White Newsletter 3 26/10/2016
We have decided for this term to trial moving our Assembly
time to 12.30pm, still being held every second Tuesday.
Thank you to parents who have provided feedback about the
change of time – we will be continuing for the rest of term
and feedback is welcomed.
Teachers and students have achieved many great things so
far this term. I encourage any member of the community to
come in at any time and see the learning and teaching going
on at Armidale City Public School. Please feel free to send
me an email at any time on the address below. Enjoy the rest

CanTeen Bandana Day Fundraiser
As we have had so many families touched by cancer at ACPS, either through a parent,
relative or friend, we have decided to raise funds for CanTeen.
This group supports children touched by cancer in any way.
Bandanas will be available from Mrs Woods at recess and lunch times until next Friday.
They are $4 each and come in an amazing range of colours and patterns.
We will have a Bandana Wearing Day this Friday, 28 October, which is the official Bandana Day.
Please support this very worthy cause….and get a funky look
to boot! Mrs Woods
