The Bharat Vikas Parishad held the festivities in authentic ancient Indian tradition at The ABPS,
Veraval on 1st August‟15. Their representatives called on the students to rejuvenate the rich Indian
tradition and the Guru Parampara. They said that honouring teachers from Vedic times brings a sense
of trust for teachers in the minds of students and with that trust one can live the entire life with a sense of
purpose. A special assembly was organized where all the students were part of the celebrations. The
students paid homage to the teachers by touching their feet and offering flowers.
Investiture Ceremony
“Leaders are not born but are made by their experiences in life”. To inculcate the leadership qualities in
students and to give them a feel of functioning of the administrative body, a school council was formed
in school.
On the fine morning of 8th
July, 2015, deserving young talents of our School were bestowed with the
responsibility of leading their School from the front with their commitment, confidence and competence.
The Investiture Ceremony thus marked the inaugural of the student council for the academic session
2015-16.
An energetic and message- filled song by the School choir created the fitting ambience, as it were, for
the significant ceremony. “This little guiding light of mine” was followed by the Lighting of the Lamp.
With the vigorous beats of the drums, the new council marched in procession up the aisle and on to the
stage. They stood upright with their heads held high and their hearts in humility as each picked up their
precious flags.
The Principal pinned up the sashes and offered badges to each council member. She further administered
the oath of office and the members of the council pledged to adhere to the values and principles upheld
by School apart from their duty towards School. The Head Boy Master Benedict Reji delivered his
maiden speech and the Head Girl Miss Astha Shrivastava proposed the Vote of Thanks.

but meaningful programme.
The programme started with flag hoisting by Principal Madam. Then there was a musical rendition by
school‟s choir group (with the underline theme being saluting our motherland) followed by Hindi and
English speeches depicting different facets of our glorious freedom struggle which energised the
audience with patriotic fervour. At the end, Principal addressed the gathering and conveyed her patriotic
message.
Tete-a-Tete with Asiatic Lion at Gir National Park
It’s better to see something than to hear about it a thousand times.
” Every expedition made is an experience which leaves students pondering and implores them to think”
The students of class XI & XII of our school went on an educational trip to the Gir Forest on 22nd
and
23rd
of August. They were really enthusiastic to see different animals and birds. They learnt a couple of
facts which really made the trip even more interesting. The excursion provided an enlightening
opportunity to students, enabling them to develop sensitivity towards wildlife and concern for their
safety and wellbeing.
It was a remarkable and fun-filled experience for the kids as they came back with smile on their faces.
The students had the pleasure of enjoying the warmth of the sun, watching the animals such as leopards,
deer and black buck and to their excitement the Asiatic Lion. They were thrilled to see the rescue centre
and its functioning. Our students had trekking experience too. They enjoyed looking at various flora and
fauna, river and the fresh environment of the forest. The children were happy to see all those animals
with own eyes about whom they read in books. The camp fire at night was an exhilarating experience
for the students who added music in the air. On the whole, the experience was quite a memorable one
for the kids.
Teacher’s Day
“Teachers are the people who dispel darkness from the lives of students and work devotedly to lighten
their future.”
The morning of 3rd
September‟15 (Teacher‟s Day Celebration) was a treat for the teachers of ABPS, as
the senior students took over the mantle of responsibility, stepping into the shoes of the teachers and
taking charge of the school for the day. Many of the teachers exercised a bit, playing Treasure Hunt and
displayed real team coordination while other presented songs, poetry, mimicry and jokes. A beautiful
cultural programme was organized by students from all the classes where they showcased their talent by
putting up performance in the form of music, dance or skit for their beloved teachers. Principal
