BI-ANNUAL REPORT
OCTOBER – MARCH – 2015-16
The second half of the session was full of exuberance and vibrancy. The school was dipped in the
rainbow of festivals and activities. We also accomplished our academic goals as our students
successfully completed their Board and Local Exams. This report represents the intricate details of
various activities conducted in the school.
1. P.T.A meetings have been regularly conducted every second Saturday of the month, to review
the activities of our school and seek the parents participation and feedback about our activities.

‘Great achievements build a monument which shall endure until the Sun grows cold’. Winning has
become the habit with ABPS students as we have reserved our position at National Science Exhibition
held under the aegis of CBSE, New Delhi . It is fourth time in a row that our young budding scientists
made their way to Delhi. The school provides every opportunity to promote scientific attitude among
budding young students and in return they leave no stone unturned in bringing laurels to the school.

ADMINISTRATIVE:
‘That some achieve great success is proof to all that, others can achieve it as well’. The budding
scientists of ABPS displayed their scientific temperaments in a renowned scholarship exam ‘NTSE’ –
National Talent Search Exam and left behind a legacy for others to follow. 10 out of 11 students have
become eligible for state-sponsored scholarship.
‘Rangayan’ – the Aditya Birla Club Committee organized a Slogan Competition on ABG Values to
promote strong ethos and belief of the Aditya Birla Group. Our budding artists made their presence felt
in the event by clinching III position and two consolation prizes.
Proving the adage true, “healthy mind in a healthy body”, the students participated in the KHEL
MAHAKUMBH, a state govt. sponsored sports competition. The students brought laurels by bagging
cash prizes.
The Ambuja Niketan, Kodinar, celebrated Yuvaan – a youth festival to commemorate 25 years of
establishment of school. The festival saw multifarious activities ranging from Sports, Literary and
Cultural Extravaganza. 22 schools from across the country participated in the 3 days festival.
Our school bagged first prize in Yoga & second prize in Mime, Spot Photography, Debate and Long
Jump (Girls).

ABPS has been conducting Olympiads in various subjects such as English, Science, Maths and
Computer in order to inculcate competitive spirit among the students. It boosts their thinking skills and
helps them think out of the box. Over the years our students are achieving top ranks at State and
National levels and bringing laurels and accolades to the institution. The table below displays the
achievements of our geniuses in various Olympiads.

At ABPS , we strive to achieve academic excellence by providing a congenial learning environment that
goes beyond the realms of textbooks and classrooms by using different strategies of learning thus
making teaching and learning more meaningful. Keeping this in mind various enrichment programs are
designed for our teachers. The teachers regularly attend workshops and immensely benefit from it.

The rich and vibrant festivals of India are a testimony to our diverse tradition and culture and the ABPS
celebrates the important events and festivals with great fanfare and immense respect.
Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.
The school paid homage to the ‘father of our nation’ by celebrating his birth anniversary in a meaningful
way.
The morning assembly was the reflection of Bapu’s ideology and philosophy as the students quoted his
golden words and conveyed his social messages. The day was marked by the vision and mission of
Mahatma Gandhi as the students cleaned the school premises and took part in poster making
competition on the topic – ‘Gandhi of my vision.’ The Principal addressed the students and encouraged
them to spread awareness on cleanliness.

CELEBRATIONS:
CHILDREN’S DAY
Children's day was celebrated with gaiety and fervour at ABPS. It was a fun-filled day for the
students. The teachers made the day special, as they had a lot of fun-filled activities lined for
them. All the cultural items were organized and performed by the teachers. So the day had the
theme 'With love - from teachers to students'.
ANNUAL FUNCTION - MRIDANGAM
The musical extravaganza ‘Mridangam’ stole the soul of the people of Veraval. First time ever in the
town, people witnessed The LED background and a splendid ambience created by bright inviting lights
and music in lush orchestral arrangement intended to provide a relaxing, soothing and lively atmosphere.
The mood of the audience spurred on when the chief Guest Mr. H.S. Dagur, the other officials of Indian
Rayon and the Principals of various school unfolded the cultural extravaganza by lighting the auspicious
lamp.
The programme commenced with the exuberant welcome dance ‘Swagatam’. The various dances,
representing the variety and cultural of Indian States, captivated the audience who could not stop
applauding. The central attraction was the portrayal of cultural confluence and vibrancy -‘The
Yognrityam’ in which the students presented the various yoga positions through dance. Later the prizes
and awards were distributed to the achievers by the chief guest and the other officials to motivate them
to set new benchmarks for themselves, and to spur on their peers to aim for similar heights.
The Chief Guest Mr. H. S. Dagur had all appreciation for the school’s attainment of excellence in
academic and co-curricular spheres through its dedicated efforts and perseverance. The illuminating
evening ended with the National Anthem.
ABG School Principal’s meet at Gyanodaya in the month of December like all other years, was an
extremely enriching experience. The three day workshop had Dr. S. Ganguli and other eminent resource
persons interacting with the Principals, helping them grow in expertise in imparting wholesome
qualitative education to the students, entrusted to their care.
It was a proud moment for the school when the principal was nominated for the Prestigious
Chairman’s Award of the Aditya Birla Group in the category of “Exceptional Contributor – 2015”.

PRINCIPALS’ MEET AT GYANODAYA
The festive spirit was witnessed among school staff and students of ABPS on Christmas Celebration.
Tiny tots of ABPS celebrated Christmas by exhibiting their talent through songs and dance
performances. They emphasized the importance of caring and sharing and spreading goodness all
around. The children spread cheer with their smiles and lovely attire. Madam Principal praised and
appreciated the efforts of the little ones and the teachers.
Santa of ABPS, who was dressed in red and white clothes, carried bag full of chocolates and distributed
to the students.
NEW YEAR CELEBRATION
ABPS hosted the New Year programme in collaboration with Indian Rayon at the school premises. The
programme was full of fun and frolic and a perfect venue for the people to recognize their abilities and
talents, through an array of entertaining programmes. The variety of cultural events like dance, drama,

songs took the event on new heights and created a multi-coloured atmosphere. Throughout the night the
audience tapped their feet and enjoyed every moment to the full.
Since the chilling air of winter has changed into soothing cold breeze, here comes the spring season
known as Basant and the advent of the spring season was celebrated in ABPS for its auspiciousness. The
students and the teachers participated in Saraswati Puja and prayed for their academic excellence and
better future.
The arrival of the Honorable Chief Minister, Mrs. Anandi Ben Patel was a big occasion for the town
Veraval as it wore a bridal look. The Chief Minister’s presence in the town made 66th Republic Day
very special for the people of Veraval. She hoisted the tri-colour flag at Somnath Stadium and witnessed
the cultural event at Rayon Cricket Ground. The students of ABPS also got an opportunity to showcase
their talent to the Chief Minister through the cultural programmes – Mime and Dance. The school
celebrated the Republic day in school also with a great deal of patriotic zeal and fervour.

The long awaited athletics events were held which included track events and field events. The students
participated enthusiastically in all of them. The prizes were given away by the Principal Ma’am. The
Narmada House bagged the overall championship ‘The Cock House Trophy’ followed by the Yamuna
House and the Godavari House bagging the first and second runners up trophies respectively. The event
came to an end successfully with the vote of thanks, leaving thrilling memories in the hearts of each and
every one present there.
The students of Std. XII were bid an emotional farewell by the students of Std. XI & the staff. The
evening turned out to be a memorable one for the outgoing class. They were a witness to foot-tapping
dances, songs and inspiration talks by the teachers.

FAREWELL-‘SAYONARA’
Throughout the year the students of Std. X and XII shed blood, sweat and tears in preparing themselves
for boards and finally in the month of March their hard work reflects in their exams. To give a
traditional start to the Board Exam and to boost the students’ confidence, a small ‘POOJA’ was arranged
by the school and after the prayer the students headed for their Board Center.
‘Take a quiet walk with Mother Nature. It will nurture your mind, body and soul.’ The words seemed
appropriate for an educational tour organized by ABPS for the students of Std. X. A day spent in the lap
of nature and an encounter with the natural beast, the king of the forest – the Gir Lion helped students
explore the new world. The tour stimulated in the students, the sensitivity towards the nature and its
inhabitants.
We exposed our students to multifarious competitions to ensure their all-round holistic growth. Some of
the in-house competitions included painting competitions, quiz competitions, essay competitions and
debates.
