Tata Ethos sustained for 140 Years
1. Jamshetji Tata 1887 - 1904 (mills, hotels, community) “In a free enterprise the community is not just another stakeholder in our business but it is in fact the very purpose of its existence.”
2. Sir Dorabji Tata 1904 - 1932 (steel, sports, education, health) “The health and wellbeing of our operatives are our best assets.”
4. JRD Tata 1938 - 1991 (aviation, atomic energy, employee welfare) “The wealth gathered by Jamsetji Tata and his sons in half a century is held in trust for the society. The cycle is thus complete, what came from the people has gone back to the people many times over.”
5. Ratan Tata 1991 - (cars, literacy) “We are not doing this for propaganda. There are companies (outside the group) who may do it for the sake of publicity. We are doing it because we really wish to (by choice).”
