WELLDON PARK: NEWSLETTER
ASSEMBLY THEMES NEXT WEEK: DIFFERENT FAMILIES WITHIN BRITAIN
Highlights from this half term:
We settled into our new classes and are making more progress with more to come!
Behaviour is constantly improving with a focus on playground be-
haviour coming next!
Our wonderful new building is being used for assembly and will con-tinue to help us for our daily assemblies with a safety theme!
We are fitter and stronger thanks to the Daily Mile! Pictures above
show our huge success at the CROSS COUNTRY Harrow event this week.
HALF TERM
Thank you for your commitment and support to our school during this first half term.
The school has made progress in many areas and the children are speaking proudly about their achievements. We appreciate all parent feedback and have enjoyed meeting you at
Parent’s Evenings this week and look forward to those meetings after half term.
Whilst we cannot give any feedback on Wednesday’s OFSTED visit until the letter is re-leased shortly after half term, we must express our gratitude for the hard work of the staff and our children. Welldon Park is well on the way with it’s journey and we will
keep on...
STRIVING TOGETHER TO SUCCESS!
WEEKLY SAFEGUARDING LESSONS
This week we have been recapping all our work to date on Safety! The children are able to describe how we keep safe in the following ways:
Talking to our five trusted adults
Using the worry box Staying Safe online
Using the NSPCC PANTS program What to do when they witness bullying
How to keep safe when moving around the school Road Safety
Going to the SPACE
Ask your child more about these areas!
Have a chat with your child and ask them what they have been learning! A reminder will be in weekly newsletters.
EXTRA MONEY TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD
Did you know the government gives additional funding to schools for those children entitled to free school meals?
Schools use this money towards staff and resources to support your child’s education. Help us to secure more money by finding out if your child (Key
Stage 1 or Key Stage 2) could qualify for free school meals by visiting www.fsm.lgfl.net.
For your reference term dates for this academic year and next are included below:
Remember your child must be in school every day! We are aiming for 97% attendance for the school year. Please try to avoid booking
holidays where possible.
Term dates are also available on our school website.
As always, if you have any concerns, meet your child’s class teacher first – speak to the office and they will ar-range an appointment for you. If there is something more urgent or private, a senior member of staff will always be made available to see you. Thank you for your con-
tinued support.
