were the top three answers that were reported:
The stalker wanted to be in control
The stalker still wanted a relationship with the victim
The stalker wanted to scare the victim
Top three reasons stalkers left victims alone
When victims were asked by the Stalker Resource Center
why they felt that their stalker decided to leave them alone,
these were the top three answers that were given:
The victim relocated
The stalker got a new love interest

What to do if you or someone you know is being stalked
If you are someone who is being stalked, it is important that you inform someone whether
it being family, friends, or an associate. It is not an easy situation to deal with but it is a
situation that you can survive.
Getting a protective order is a good idea, for legal reasons. We understand that
protective orders are sometimes violated but it is good to get one because at least they will
have a record on file for your stalker.
If you know someone who is being stalked please share this information with them and
try to help them if you can. It is also important to be understand during times such as these.
People who are dealing with situations like these don’t need someone to talk at them but
need someone to talk with them and listen. Whatever you do, do not be judgmental.
