Many things can divide communities: money, vanity, gossip. But the Spirit comes to save us from divisions. The Holy Spirit is the Master of harmony. He creates harmony in the community, because He
Himself is harmony, the harmony between the Father and the Son.
St. Mary Scrip
We are not placing orders for scrip during this time of social distancing but you may purchace and use eGift cards (ScripNow) for participating retailers. eGift cards paid for online (either by credit card or linked bank account) are generally available within minutes. Are you interested? Log in to shopwithscrip.com, set up a person account, enter enrollment code LAFC63B55286 and start shopping! Our local grocery stores and gas stations do not offer eGift cards but retailers such as Subway, Walmart, Target and Amazon do! Check out shopwithscrip.com for a complete list of ScripNow retailers.
You can also support our parish during this time by saving your grocery receipts from Denny’s SuperValu and putting them in the Community Dollars drawer in the church entrances or in the board at the store entrance. Denny’s will contribute 1% of those sales to your choice of our parish, school, or Rosary Society.
Knights of Columbus news….
The Algoma Knights of Columbus are very proud and honored to welcome Fr. Alvan Amadi to Council 2210.
Also, congratulations to Richard Zirbel for making his 2nd & 3rd degree.
We would also like to take this time to thank all who supported our fish fries - it enabled us to afford to get the carpets cleaned in the church!

Greetings St. Mary Parish Family, Well things have certainly changed since the last time I wrote the bulletin column. Our whole world of education and teaching has certainly been turned up-side-down. I must say that it was a bit daunting at first, but the teachers and staff have stepped up to the challenge. We have been blessed, through the educational community, with a number of online resources and virtual ways to instruct our students. We thank God for all those inspiring people who have shared their talents with educators across our nation to put our children first. I’m sure you are all missing Mass and the Holy Eucharist. I feel bad for our 2nd graders who have been preparing for First Holy Communion, and I hope we don’t have to wait too long for them to attain this most Holy Sacrament. It is such a pivotal point in their religious lives. Pray for all of them. Also, I have so much respect for our bishop, priests, and deacons as they try to keep God’s people nourished with faith and masses in new and exciting ways. Let us all remember to pray for them. Last, but not least, a huge thank you goes out to our many healthcare workers and community safety personnel from Algoma and surrounding areas. Our prayers, together with all religious communities throughout the world, are with you and for your health and safety as you work to keep all of us safe. So, in closing let me refer to the second reading from last weekend’s mass. From the first Letter of St. Peter: “In this you rejoice, although now for a little while you may have to suffer through various trials, so that the genuineness of your faith, more precious than gold that is perishable even though tested by fire, may prove to be for praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” We are definitely going through the worst of trials, but our faith in Christ Jesus will bring us through. We will be stronger and more committed to make this world a better place for all. The staff at St. Mary School thanks you for your prayers as we continue to pray for all of you. +St. Joseph, pray for us. Mrs. Cindy Massey
