HOOPTIME
The Year 4 Hooptime boys came away with a convincing win in the first round of their Hooptime challenges. They won all of their games and were not only impressive on the court but also off the court in terms of their sportsmanship and behaviour throughout the day. The next round will be next term. The boys have been training very hard to improve their skills, as they will be competing against much tougher competitors. We congratulate them on making it past the first round and wish them all the best for their journey.

IMPORTANT SCHOOL DATES PLANNING WEEK Next week teachers will be working together to commence planning for Term 4. Teachers work collaboratively during their planning time to ensure that learning opportunities are provided for all students, including those who are working above and below the expected level. A great deal of time and effort also goes into ensuring that programs cater for different learning styles.
Teachers at Mount Waverley Primary School have a deep understanding that the most powerful element to adding value to student learning is through reducing disruptive behaviour and that this is best achieved through inspiring and engaging students in their learning.
Thorough planning enables our approach to be flexible, reflective and adaptive as teachers continually evaluate where students are achieving across all curriculum areas. It is vital that we teach to the point of need for individual students during the term and planning documents should cater for this.
Ongoing collaboration and communication with students enables us to adapt our learning tasks and with flexible planning catering for this.
I would like to thank the teachers at Mount Waverley Primary School for their ongoing commitment to continuous improvement with all elements of our profession.
BOOK WEEK I would like to express my sincere thanks to everyone involved in making Book Week such a huge success. I thoroughly enjoyed reading ‘Walter the Farting Dog’ to 2A, 3B, 6A and 6B. Last Friday author Andy Griffeths was an inspirational speaker and engaged our whole school in his tales about his life and how he constructs his books. I thank Jacqueline Griffiths for organising Andy to come to our school.
Library Open Day was very well attended, providing opportunities for families to read together and it showcased our amazing Library. Thanks to everyone who supported Jacqueline on the day.
