SOLEMNITY OF THE MOTHER OF GOD January 1, 2017
Queridos Amigos,
Ciertamente no merezco ninguna
Dear Friends,
Happy New Year!!!
What a beautiful celebration we had here of Our Lord's
birth. Thank you again to everyone who helped us to have such a
wonderful Christmas here. And keep celebrating! Remember,
we celebrate through the whole Christmas Season, not just on
December 25th!
I would also like to extend a personal thanks to everyone who
gave me little Christmas cards or presents or Christmas treats /
goodies. Thank you for always making me feel very much a part
of your families, and very well loved. I certainly don't deserve
any of your kindnesses. I love you all very much and am very
appreciative of all of you!
As we start the New Year we have to set out strong and make
some good resolutions to follow through on.
There is told the story of St. Anthony of the Desert that he made
great progress through his whole life by imagining that nothing
he had done to that moment now counted for anything and that
he was starting this new day as if it were his first day of being a
Christian. So each new day he started out with renewed zeal and
vigor. May we start the New Year with such holy thoughts!
May I suggest a few New Years resolutions?
1) Go to at least one daily Mass each week, more if you can.
2) Do not go more than a month between your confessions.
3) Pray the Rosary everyday as we observe this year in 2017 the
100th anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima.
4) Be more generous to the poor and needy and come to the Food
Pantry at least once or twice a month.
5) Volunteer for a church ministry such as being an extraordinary
minister of Holy Communion, a sacristan, a lector, or helping
with CCD or Youth Group.
Come up with your own spiritual resolutions too! The more
concrete and practical the better.
God bless you. May 2017 be a year of tremendous grace and
spiritual growth for our whole community!
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Simon

BIENVENIDOS
poder servir a nuestra hermosa
comunidad hispana. Dicho esto
quiero que sepan que si tiene
cualquier necesidad Sacramental,
podemos ayudarles. Se ofrece
Bautismo, preparación para el
Matrimonio, etc. Lo mas fabuloso es
que ahora también es en Español
aquí. Por favor, venga o llame a la
oficina para que le podamos asistir en
sus necesidades espirituales. También,
los niños están invitados a que asistan
a las clases de Catecismo que
comienzan en enero 11 de 2017. Lo
único que tienen que hacer es
registrarse antes. Tenemos las formas
necesarias en la oficina. No se
preocupen porque nosotros les
ayudamos con todo eso.

Also our incredible Youth Group meets every Sunday
from 4pm to 6pm. This is for all young people in
middle school and high school. In addition to
learning about the Bible and our Catholic Faith, we
have a lot of fun and have trips and service projects.
With all the bad influences out there, it is so great to
have here such a large and active Youth Group where
solid Christ-based friendships can be formed.

This year the Christmas present that our parish is giving to
Jesus for His birthday is to make a beautiful little shrine to
honor Jesus’ Mother. It will be a wonderful place where
people can go to light candles and invoke the prayers of the
