• If you do not have a Google/Gmail account:
• Register for an account• Enter your google/gmail username and password when prompted
1 What is google drive?
• Originally called google docs ( documents)• Serves a cloud storage device similar to drop
box for storing any type of documents or file.• A space for creating and sharing documents
Drop box (max storage =2GB)Google drive ( max free storage = 5GB)

Uploading documents
Step 1: Click on the upload button
Step 2 : click on files…
On your computer select a word document your want to upload…
• There are two options : Keep in exact format, doc., docx., ppt. etc Convert to google doc format
Step 3: Upload a PowerPoint presentation and a pdf document ( keep them in their original formats)

Step 1: Click on the create buttonStep 2 : Click on the type of document you want to create….. [ Let’s start with a word document] Folder for organising files Document similar to word Presentation like PowerPoint Spreadsheet like excel * Form ( questionnaire, survey ) like he one you received from Prof. Winberg

• There are two forms of sharing google documents:
Sharing with another google docs user ( who has a gmail account and uses the google docs interface)
Sharing with a non google docs use in the form of an email attachment.

Step 1: Go back to the document you created or use any other document on the driveStep 2 : you can right click on the document itself and then click share…..

Step 2 ( cont.):or you can share with you collaborators by clicking share in the top right hand corner of a new document….
