ROYAL NAVAL ASSOCIATIONS BIENNIAL PARADE – SUNDAY 10 SEPTEMBER 2017 – PARADE ORDERS
Introduction
1. The Royal Naval Associations will be holding their Biennial Parade at the Cenotaph at Whitehall on Sunday 10 September 2017. Associations and individuals related to the Naval Service are cordially invited to march with their Shipmates and to parade their Standards with the RNA National Standard, RNA Area, RNA Branch Standards, Confederation of Naval Associations Standards and Guest Standards. The Royal Navy will be represented by two platoons of Trainees from HMS Sultan and HMS Collingwood, their Commanding Officers and the band from the RN Volunteer Band Association. It is anticipated that standards and marchers will parade from AFAFN/NVOZM (Belgium). Once again there will be marchers and a Standard from the Irish Naval Association.
Due to the higher level of security this year, following terrorist incidents in London, the Metropolitan Police have advised some changes to the Parade in order for it to be held safely. This will primarily mean a change to where the parade forms and returns.
The Parade is to form up in King Charles Street and is to dismiss in King Charles Street after a wreath laying ceremony at the Cenotaph. The Deputy Chaplain of the Fleet, The Rev Martyn Gough RN has agreed to officiate at the Service of Remembrance representing the Chaplain of the Fleet. The Second Sea Lord, Vice Admiral Jonathan
