Work has begun on the multipurpose court with the removal
of the existing fence. With a beautiful new surface, it will
certainly make the bounce of the ball a little more
predictable! During this work, the entrance to the worksite
will be through a separate entrance from May St. The current
gate will still be in use for students.
Thank you to our parents and families for remaining off site
as much as possible and for being vigilant in keeping your
child at home if they are unwell. There have been some cases
of schools closing but not in our area.
As restrictions lift gradually, we are being able to return to
some of our usual activities. Our website features the most
recent parent guidelines from the Department of Education.
For our school there will not be any whole school assemblies
for some time however we will continue to recognise student
progress and achievement through our Merit Awards and
House Points. The Student Council will be holding three
discos next Thursday to recognise the great effort made by
students during the last few months. Great idea SRC!
We can now hold our School Photos and wonderful
Dance2bFit lessons in Term 3. Next term also sees the return
of weekly Scripture lessons. All approved visitors to the
school site must be inducted into the new safety protocols
and agree to abide by them to ensure the safety of everyone.
For this semester only, the school reports have been adjusted
in recognition of the impact of learning from home and at
school during Term 1 and 2, 2020. The teachers comment will
describe your child’s progress and achievement in the
learning covered during the first two terms of the year. The
report will focus on the learning undertaken in English and
Mathematics and a general comment encompassing learning
at home, commitment to learning and social development.
Due to the restriction to visitors on site, we are unable to
hold our usual face-to-face interviews, so class teachers have
begun to contact families to start the interview process by
phone. Those families not contacted this term will be notified
early next term of arrangements for the next round of
interviews.
Kind regards Charmian Cribb
