National Animal Health Program Steering Group Meeting,

- Share information on Georgia`s National Animal Health Program 2013-2018 and
continue the implementation of Animal Health Action Plan;
- Put forward OIE good governance concepts for improving animal health, animal
welfare and food safety of animal products at national, regional and international level
National Workshop “Country perspectives on IHR/PVC assessments and road map
for better intersectoral collaboration among animal and human health sectors”, 13-
14 March, 2014 Baku, Azerbaijan
Aimed at providing an opportunity to animal and human health services of the Azerbaijan,
to share their views and outputs resulting from the country assessment conducted
respectively in the animal health (PVS Pathway missions) and human health sectors.

Veterinary Education Twinning project
Agreement on Organization and Implementation of Twining Project in Veterinary
Education between Conseil supérieur de l’Ordre des Vétérinaires (parent VSB) and
Russian Veterinary Association was signed on 27 May 2014 in Paris, France
The aim of the project is:
to establish and maintain veterinary favorable situation in the country
which is based on:
• high quality veterinary education
• reasonable manpower policy
• qualified university training of the specialists and their re-training as well
as a clear system of advanced training and veterinary specialists’
accreditation confirmation.

Twinning project
The OIE signed the technical agreement to support
Kazakhstan by official request for scientific-methodical and
technical assistance to Kazakh Scientific Research Veterinary
Institute of the Agriculture Ministry of the Republic of
Kazakhstan in development and validation of the national
program for foot-and-mouth disease control, preparation of
the dossier and application for foot-and-mouth-disease-free
status for the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
