T he weather is turning from summer to fall and with it comes crisp, chilly mornings with the requirement of

a jacket to be taken wherever I go. During this time I start to crave the thick texture of a knit fabric, dark saturated colours and the warmth of a faux fur. It is also around this time that I get an itch to make a change to my space. I start with switching out the

bright, summer décor of lime green, teal and citron with rich, sumptuous jewel tones. With names like emerald, amethyst, and sapphire, how can you not feel royal and regal in your own home? Don’t be afraid to refer to a space like this as your palace! These rich colours compliment an existing neutral colour palette with shades of gray or beige brilliantly. They work fabulously alone, in various

combinations, or paired with other rich jewel colours. For interiors, we can use these colours in obvious places like paint on the wall, accessories, throw cushions and blankets, or a less obvious choice like wallpaper. These colours add a depth, richness and certain decadence to any interior space.
