The Outlook

Peter’s POINTS

Hey Parents:

This past Sunday your child(ren) participated in Kid-

Fusion. Kid-Fusion is held on the 3rd Sunday of the month

and it's a time for your kids to engage and "fuse" with

kids from other churches. Jefferson, First Christian of

King and Poplar Springs all participate in this monthly

meeting. This past Sunday was our first Kid-Fusion for

the school year. We were excited to introduce our topic

for the year: Challenge. Every month we are going to

share different challenges with the kids and help encour-

age them to move past all the many different challenges

they may face in life. This past Kid-Fusion we introduced

the concept of challenge and all three children's

ministers shared different types of challenges;

spiritual, physical and emotional.

We divided the children into smaller groups based on

which challenge they most closely related to (spiritual,

emotional or physical). In these small groups we were able

to talk more directly with them and encourage them in

overcoming their SPECIFIC challenges. Your child was

also taught the them verse for Kid-Fusion, "I can do all

things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians

4:13. To help your child remember this concept we gave

each child a little pocket cross. We told the kids the

cross was to help remind them that God is with them and

gives them strength to overcome whatever challenge

they are facing.

So if you see a little metal cross floating around the

house or clanking in your dryer you'll know why! I encour-

age you to take time and talk with your child about what

challenges they face, especially with this new school year.

You can break the ice by asking what group they went

with at Kid-Fusion.

Please continue to pray for our youth and for our parents!!!

LOVE ALL OF YA,

Peter

Luke’s Letter to the Flock

Wow ! How the summer has flown by!

It feels like just yesterday school was

getting out and we were all gearing up for

vacation, camp, CIY and pool parties.

A new school year is here and our students

are getting back into the swing of things.

This summer I have been amazed by the evi-

dence of God in our students and how they

have grown together along the way. From

Park Springs and the fellowship that goes

on there, to CIY ,where I saw our crew

come together to work on a project that

stretched them to the max. By that I mean

it rained the whole time and our students

still let God use them to shine a light to

those families in Johnson City.

Overall, it was one awesome summer!

Fall is here and the thing you need to re-

member is PRAYER. Pray for our youth in

all that you do. Pray for their school, their

relationships, their hearts and most of all

their relationship with our Lord.

much love, Lucas

her recovery.

Thank You

Dear Church Family,

Thank you so much for

the outpouring of love you

sent our way at the time of

our Mom’s passing. The

many cards, flowers and

donations to the church

were such a comfort. She

loved this church and the

people in it so much.

Please continue to remem-

ber us in your prayers as

we face the difficult days

without her.

In Christian Love,

The Dott Covington Family

P.S. To the ladies and

gentlemen who provided

the memorial meal…

what a blessing you are.

It meant so much.

Working on Christmas Songs

Wednesday Nights at 8pm

New members welcome!

No experience is necessary!! This is a great time

to join and be apart of this ministry!

The Christian Holy Land Foundation, Inc. (CHLF) is an independent organization formed in the early 1980s for the pur-pose of sharing the Gospel message in the Holy Land. For more than 20 years that mission was carried out through our affilia-tion with George Awwad, a Christian Arab minister living in East Jerusalem. Following George's unexpected death in 2003 CHLF looked for two years for someone to continue the work. God brought together CHLF with an already existing Team of couples in the Galilee and it was clear that it was time for a period of

significant growth in the ministry.

The purpose of Christian Holy Land Foundation is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the Holy Land and its surrounding areas, and to establish and maintain a base of operations from which churches patterned after the New Testament order may be started.

To aid in the accomplishment of this purpose, every practical and scriptural means may be employed, including educational cen-ters, benevolent ministries, care facilities, and training centers.
