TheRacialLiteracyGroup#4isaprocessgroupthatengageshelpingprofessionstobecomemoreattunedtocomplexracialdynamics.Racismisastructuralarrangementintendedtomaintainthepowerofwhitesupremacy.Itisreinforcedbyinterpersonalandintrapsychicracistideologythatwehaveallinternalizedtosomedegree.Internalizedracialoppression,radicalizedsexualfantasies,racialidentityconcerns,colorism,andprivilegecorruptourinterpersonalconnections.

WestandontheshouldersoforganizersgroundedintheprinciplesofthePeoplesInstituteforSurvivalandBeyond.,theAnti-RacistAlliance,andTheGrassrootsReparationsCampaign.WeincorporateourlearningexperiencesfromtheseorganizationsandfromourRacialLiteracyConsultationGroupsandWhitenessLearningGroupstoprovidehelpingprofessionalsopportunitiestoexaminehowwecolludewithorresistracisminourworkandourlives.Wewillshare,experience,anddissectracialdilemmasinordertobecomemoreskillfulatinterruptingbiasandwhite-centeredness.TheRacialLiteracyGroup#4isanopen-endedgroupthatwillmeetbi-weeklyforeightmonthseachyearandcontinuethefollowingyearonFridaysfrom2-3:30pm
