There are lots of other fishing manuals out there today so try to make yours stand out from the competition. The potential audi-ence for the will be very broad so make sure you design something that will appeal to everyone. The book will have to hold a lot of information so make sure that is it easily read.

Cover
The logo originally designed for Proper Bait - fishing and lifestyle magazine was screen painted metallic gold onto the hard back cover to match the colour of the gold hook binding the book. A minimalist classy feel was given to the cover because I felt it would be appropriate for all audiences.
Typefaces
Champagne & Limousines: Chosen for introductions and headers throughout the book, this was due its bold-ness and quirkiness for certain letter forms, adding different feel to the book from oth-ers.
Aller: Chosen for body text, this is because of its readability even at a small point size.
Bind
The book is bound with fishing line and held together using a gold fishing hook. Which is why perfect bound Japanese stab bind, to allow the fishing line to be on dis-play add to the design of the cover with the gold hook being the main focal point.

Grid
Due to the broad potential audience for the book the grid was designed to maximise readability, allowing as much information per page without the page seeming clut-tered, also help to add a visual consistency throughout every page of the book.
Content
The content was mainly sourced whilst conducting research for the fishing maga-zine collaboration. Contains everything you need to know to become a top angler from setting up your rod to how and where to catch a specific species of fish.
3/3
Sections with large amounts of body-text to be laid out the page.
Less cluttered sections, for lists and pages with not much content.
