London Host celebrate65th Charter Anniversary
From the EditorWith the Convention begins the end of one Lionisticyear, and beginnings of the following year with newleaders being elected. Many Lions are recognised fortheir unselfish service to Lionism and encourages otherLions to follow their footsteps. A place to meet andgreet fellow Lions from other Clubs and fosterfriendships.
Congratulations to all for a successful Convention,particularly as this was the 50th District 105AConvention.

OBITUARYShri Lion Venilal D. Vaghela passed intohigher service on 16th March 2015. Hisdemise was so sudden. He had justfinished producing a wonderful bumperSouvenir Brochure for District 105A’s50th Convention. He had been a Lion formany years and will be sorely missed. Hisfamily would like to thank all Lions fortheir prayers and messages of support.
Kenton Lions, on a very cold March Saturday recently,supported The Marie Curie Cancer Care Great Daffodil
Appeal with collections in both Pinner and Ealing areas.Both LP Ravina and Lion Vivien found the generosity of the general public heart warming. It was a greatopportunity to increase awareness of the marvellous and dedicated work this charity does.

Welcome New Lions
Lions of London Host Club celebrated at Holiday InnRegents Park on 22 March, their 65th Charter with great
fanfare and over 120 guests including many visiting Liondignitaries. PIP Lion Pino Grimaldi and Ornella specially flewin from Italy for 4 days. PID Howard Lee and Claire, CCGLion Michael Phillips and Patricia, our DG Lion RameshParmar, PCC Lion Geoff Leeder, 7 PDG’s, and other Lionsfrom various Clubs and Districts, as far as Isle of Wight,France, and South Italy and attended the function.
Our Twinned Club’s Past President Leif Orgen thankedand congratulated us and presented us a Momento of thishistoric event. Excellent arrangements were made by PDGLion Vijay Arora. The atmosphere was jovial, goodhumoured speeches followed and the anniversary cake wasshared by all. Everyone had an enjoyable afternoon.
A 52 page Souvenir Brochure was produced to mark theevent. Donations for over £600 were received and/ orpledged by some members and our Patron. Our specialthanks to DG Lion Ramesh who gave a gift of bracelets toall Ladies. We as a Club also presented a 65th Special Pin toall Lions and a gift – shawl to all Ladies.
I would also like to thank all the members of the Cluband more particularly to those who not only attended butalso helped at the function.

My fellow Lions.
I am very sad to learn the passingaway of Lion Veni Vaghela. He was sucha wonderful man and had done so muchfor the Lions over the many years. Wewill miss him dearly. On behalf of District105A I offer our deepest sympathies andcondolences and pray that The Almightyrests the departed soul in Eternal Peaceand give strength to the family in thisdifficult time.
Convention 2015I would like to thank all the fellow Lionsfor a wonderful celebration for our 50thconvention on 6/7th March 2015. It was agreat weekend and I am sure everyonehad a great time! A memorableConvention we can be all proud of andhave happy memories for a long time tocome! There was a happy buzzthroughout the weekend and all thosewho attended – which was in largenumbers - had a terrific time and tookback happy memories of the event.
Thank you to District Conventionofficer Lion Ken Rouse, Conventionchairman Lion Eric and ConventionCoordinator Lion Sunil Patel. I also thanklate Lion Veni Vaghela who almostsingle handed produced the ConventionSouvenir brochure.
Special mention of thanks to the greatwork done by the IT team – under theguidance of PCC Lion Geoff Leeder! Thank you to Lions Club of Edgware forhosting the Convention and I thank allthe Convention committee members for
their great efforts to make theConvention a success!
Finally I would like to thank all thepresenters. Above all thank all of you inmaking this a very special and wonderfulweekend!!
MEETING WITH THE INTERNATIONALPRESIDENTOur District was honoured with visit byInternational President Joe Preston on10th March. Visit to Moorefield EyeHospital was arranged at midday whenpresentation of Korle Bu Project wasgiven .
Thereafter to the House of Commonsto celebrate the UN Day. Jessica, aged 13,who was the MD winner of the PeacePoster competition was presented withPeace Poster trophy. Jessica wassponsored by LC of Hemel Hempstead.Lion Joginder gave talk on StreetChildren and was awarded IP Certificateof Appreciation.
Dinner was hosted in the evening atRembrandt Hotel in honour of IP JoePreston. This was arranged by Lion MaxMongia.
